Beats me... But there is a campaign mission in Veitnam...

WitchdoctorDan 03-16-2011 10:17 PM

The Cold War was from 1945 until the 80s. (Can't remember the year the USSR collapsed. :P) So all of BO is in the Cold War.

Dog Gunmorgan 03-16-2011 10:21 PM

Well, it is based on actually missions of the special forces and I think you are referring to the mission where you fly the cobra... that might have been in Veitnam but idk.

I am referring to the Campaign mission SOG. In that mission, you are greeted by Woods when he says, "This is Nam baby!"

Since the Cold War actually had no fighting involved, the game was mostly Vietname/Cuban Missle Crisis.

SEAKING23 03-17-2011 02:04 AM

The cold war was a spy war, and a considerable amount of people died, but not as much as in a full scale war.

There were no battles in the Cold War, and mostly it was based upon who could stockpile the most munitions and not go bankrupt. But that's enough about the cold war because it's starting to get controversial, and there's rule about that on POF.

Yes. Lets freeze all this Cold War discussion. Just chill.

On another note the events on Five actually happened.

Now I'm not sure if they have it for you consolites out there since I game on the PC, but if you like WWII based FPS games you should really check out the Brothers in Arms series from Gearbox/Ubisoft...while the original MoH and CoD pioneered the genre, along with a few mods for other games, the BoA series is very impressive...graphics are good and you control your squad(s) to suppress the enemy or flank them, etc...

Worth looking into...trust me...

Oh and I agree...would love to see a WWI FPS game (which some are being developed btw)...the closest thing to it was a game called Iron Storm in which WWI never ended and you start the game 50 yrs later around 1964, using both WWI weapons as well as more modern ones...

Iron Storm is a first-person shooter computer game first developed by 4X Studios and Kylotonn and published by Wanadoo Edition and DreamCatcher Interactive in 2002. A remixed version of the game called World War Zero was later released for the PlayStation 2 and PC. Set in an alternate history in which World War I never ended, the game takes place in 1964, the 50th year of the war, and focuses on an Allied soldier's mission to stop the Russo-Mongolian Empire from developing nuclear weapons and his later efforts to end the war.

Iron Storm displays a mix between World War I siege tactics, such as trench warfare and the use of mustard gas, and some World War II-style weapons such as machine guns, mortars, tanks, and missile launchers of that era, as well as more contemporary technology such as helicopters, wireless communication, spy satellites, anti-personnel mines, and unmanned turrets

The Skirata Clan 03-18-2011 12:32 AM

Brothers in Arms is available for consoles... I think.

WitchdoctorDan 03-18-2011 01:13 AM

Yup. A few are. I have some for the PS2.

PS: Someone mind checking Xbox Live Arcade for it on Games on Demand?

Want to make COD7 remind you of COD4?

Go into a lobby equiping a ASP, and only using your Melee with the following perks: Lightweight, Steady Aim, Ninja.

Dog Gunmorgan 03-20-2011 04:37 AM

lol that works muffin. I can clean house with the asp in hardcore free for all.

Had my best KD game last night at 30 kills and 1 death. Honestly, the ten games before that I was doing pretty good and I got bored of worrying about KD so I just went with the objective. Funny thing is, when you're paying attention and just having fun, you seem to do better.

Have to thank xjawz on youtube, too. He has really good videos. Man, still 10 prestiges away from those gold guns.
