I have seen that too. When I say I'll report them, they always say they have different accounts. That's the problem. They make two, three, four, accounts, and just go on to cause trouble, and to avoid filter, disguise it. Horrible, just horrible. It is fine to have two, three, four accounts, just don't use them for inappropriate purposes.

Boy, do I have a story to tell you all about being banned. So, on my main pirate, Jack Mcsteel, I logged in and found myself banned. I checked e-mail and it didn't say why I was banned only saying to call to unlock my account. I was planning on calling later, so I switched to another pirate/account I had in case anything like this ever happened. That day was also the day Brethren Feast was happening, and almost 5 minutes in-game I got a disconnection message saying " You have broke terms of use, you are banned, etc etc " So I switched to another account after that and my friend asked what happened and she also got banned for saying " Jack Mcsteel " Then I got banned once again right before the GM came for feast.

So I live chatted and the guy said there was a topic he couldn't discuss on live chat on why I was banned and had to call but he did say this " The moderator attached a note to your ban, he said " Disney, doesn't appreciate flash mobs anymore! " anyone know what thats suppose to mean??

Wow I have no earthly idea why they would ban you because of your pirates name.

Ridiculous. The awful filtering has gone too far this time. Someone getting banned for saying a name that is part of the default pirate name list! And I checked the name through and there are no parts of rude words in it that we haven't noticed.

Perhaps the secret of the atrocious filtering is that it blocks acronyms in words that could be interpreted as something offensive. But the problem with that is nearly every set of random letters could be the initials of something inappropriate! The filter needs to be fixed or we should at least get a message saying that the message didn't go through.

Nobody has the time or memory to learn every single word or phrase that doesn't go through to the next person. Especially not when there is nothing inappropriate about the 'offensive message'.

Every default character name should be entirely permitted. It is absurd that you should get banned because of it. There seems to be nothing wrong with that name! You should definitely e-mail Disney and tell them the irony of their naming scheme.

Maybe it has to do with something you did before, not during this event?

Or maybe some moderators are abusing their powers?

Keep asking for answers, don't just assume it was a name you said.

Explain if you spammed it, whispered it around, etc.

I need more proof before we can assume the reason.

Disney has gone TOO/TO far!!!!

1. No reason in an e-mail. BAD
2. Ban Notification for playing? BAD
3. Banned for saying name. BAD
4. Disney doesn't appreciate flash mobs anymore! What the heck does a bunch of people start dancing the same thing out of no where have to do with in-game? HORRIBLE (( And just plain STUPID!!!))

I bet someone is about to loose their job, and they hope that trolling their players will keep it, or someone is hacking.... >_<

And with all of these things that can cause bans, especially the Jack McSteel case, can threaten your test server access. I agree with all of you that their filtering has gone too far. One last thing I want to bring up, is that if you are open chat, that means that you are 13 AT LEAST, so they don't have to overload the filters. Some of the things they block are even 4-year old friendly!

I think I know what the moderator was referring to, but I'm not quite sure if I should say it out in public. Either way, the moderator wasn't referring to the typical flash mob that Davy mentioned.

Davy_Mcwrecker 11-29-2011 12:47 AM

Off Topic: @MTN ROFL at what Del said in your Avatar!!!! :laughks2:

EDIT: MTN, could you PM me on what you beleive the "Flash Mob" was?

Mcsteel 11-29-2011 08:16 AM

Could you PM me it to? I was wondering what it was, but it seems no one has any ideas about it.

Nate Swordwalker 11-29-2011 10:12 AM

That is absolutely ridiculous Mcsteel. I hope you figure things out mate.

Stephen O'Malley 11-29-2011 01:09 PM

Call customer service via phone and demand to speak to a supervisor. That is just absurd.

Mathboy2009 12-04-2011 06:52 AM

Is there any way to tell how long ago your last ban was?
