I HATE TO SAY THIS: I think maybe we might have to delay the Scav Hunt by a week. Sven and Grace, Mysty and Blue are being badly treated by Disney with the no tabbed accounts thing. Richard, Spanky, Rackat, all having problems. I'm in a hotel and keep geting booted every few mins. (I can live with it if y'all can.) All 5 teams registered seem to be having some sort of problem.



There are enough 'extras' to either fill in, or form another team, so maybe I'm thinking wrongly.

It's not my hunt, so I won't be the one making the decision, but maybe you need to think on it and get some input from the group, Kelly.


Crud:: I need to change my siggy to update it. Grrr. Now where did I put that master file??

I have contacted Jade every way I can think of. She has yet to respond and if she doesn't get on tonight by the time we are ready to go I am just going to do it. I can't get myself to wait any longer.

i for one would vote to put it off another week.

My in laws are in town staying with us this week and i honestly haven't figured out how i'm going to "sell" the idea of being on line for god knows how many hours tomorrow night...and there's always the chance someone at home will make plans for me between now and then.

...and rackat would be back next week.

But if it's on i'd be happy to have mya, amelia, or scallywag on the team.

Regarding delaying the Hunt: If it's okay with everyone else...it's okay with me.

I don't have any scheduling or traveling plans for the next month...unless I get an emergency call from my daughter.

I see that alot of you are having trouble. Talk it out. For now, I'll keep you in the teams you are signed up for. We can make these 5 person teams if the remaining people can't meet the team requirements.

Just let me know what you want to do. I've got it all planned out so it's no problem to me.

I'm all for basil's idea of postponing the scav hunt by a week or so. Kelly has worked to hard on it for so many people to not be able to play because of extenuating circumstances. I was really wanting to play and my charger crapped out. Booty's Gone Wild is hanging on a thread right now.

I am for postponing one week as well. Too many people have conflicts this week.

Postponing the hunt for a week, or two, whatever works for everyone, sounds good to me. Haven't been able to play much lately anyway ...

Actually, it's a good thing we all talked yesterday about delaying the hunt for a week. Just got a PM from Kelly that she can't be there tonight anyway. Her daughter in hospital.

Since there won't be a Scavenger Hunt tonight, and we had a glow fest last night, I propose a Plunder Party/Guild Help night for tonight. There should be a few people near or ready for a BB, I know at least one is real close to level 30 (the Staff quest/all island cruise) and there may be someone around level 20 for the KH/nades quest.

I'm up for all of it.

Edit: Oh yeah, Tandykins, Get Blue's account registered for that free one month giveaway. Maybe he can win a free "E" ticket for a month.

We can have teams of 5 (4 required with 1 optional) in case something happens or a player is running late / has to leave early - I like that idea :)

hey kelly... after thoroughly reading the rules for the scav hunt, it's gonna be really difficult for me to post by the noon deadline the following considering that I work early morning hours 7 days a week and I might not even get home until noon on thursday either.

Just noticed the dates for the hunt on PG 1 are still the old dates - so to everyone that tomorrow is actually the "first day" (17th) and the second day I'll assume is the 24th ;)

Think we have some changes to who is playing which pirate -

Zep - Dr. Zeppers - Level 35

I think I have the levels right, but knowing me, probably not.

OK GOOOOOOOO team JJ Monkey Burgers. Tay will be on right at the start of the hunt. I will get on as soon as I get home from work. It looks like I a should have a light schedule today, so am hoping to get on close to the start. He has an unlimited code in his hands so we are good to go.

Kelly, if due to work constraints, etc.. all our team isn't on can we submit any screenies or do we have to wait until the team is all on to take a valid shot? If we can take screenies until I get there, Jess if you want to do that you can submit those after the hunt. As GM I have a few words:

To all those who have never done an on-line Scavenger Hunt. Welcome and condolences!
This is our third, and the first to be developed and run by Kelly. (Thanks her profoundly, the rest of you will never understand how much time and effort goes into this.)
Even after two others, the process isn't perfect. BUT, it's a ton of fun!!!
The teams are venly matched, by the way the rules are set up, and everyone has just as much chance of winning as anyone else.

The real goal is the fact that we all get to play along, ingame, on basically the exact same quest, at the exact same time. I can't read Kelly's OP from here, but I do believe that the TP only by request rule is null and void during the hunt.

Kelly is the ultimate scorer, judge and deciding factor in ALL aspects of the Hunt and it's rules.

Dueces Wild Scavenger Hunt # 3... First Night

Important Note: While I will be listening in on Vent, I will not be able to talk.

All chat with me will be in Open Guild Chat... so pay attention and .. well ... like ....actually read the guild chat.

And apologies ahead of time, all my chat will be in CAPS...so it can't be missed.

Remember:
1. Have fun...
2. Drink rum..
3. TP rules go out the window tonight.
4. No outside of guild help. No glitching against enemies.
5. Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 are to be done as a group. Screenshots required. Make sure you are crewed so I can see who is there. Just do the best you can with whoever is on.
6. Part 5 can be done by the stray, OCD late night individual or be divided up amongst yourselves.
7. All screenshots must be posted by Noon... CENTRAL time on Thursday. Give yourself plenty of time to submit the screenshots!
8. All answers must be PM'd to me by Noon Central time on Thursday. The answers do not have to be submitted as a single PM.
9. There is no official ending time because of all the differing time zones. 10. When in Doubt...Refer to Rule One and Two.

Part 1: ENEMIES...Collect the Bosses:

Screenies required.

For each enemy Boss that your team fights, you receive 2 X that Boss' skill level.

Remember that the skill levels change. Example: you fight him once he's a level 15, but then he regenerates to a level 18. First one would be worth 30 pts.. the second 36pts.

You can fight a boss more than once, but are only allowed to claim credit for each Boss once! No double credit for fighting Samuel twice.

BTW: there are 45 Bosses (not including any "new" ones that they might have come up with since the "new" enemies were added) and no.. I'm not expecting you to fight them all.

Bonus:
If you fight 12 different Bosses, 25 points bonus.
17 different Bosses, 50 point bonus. (total)
21 different Bosses, 90 point bonus. (total)
30 different Bosses, 120 point bonus (total)

Possible points for this task are Variable!!

PART 2: Going for the Gold... TREASURE HUNT

While you are fighting the bosses...collect treasure.

If you get treasure drops during tonight's battles against Boss Enemies.. submit the screenshots.

You will get points according to the treasure's value. The Treasure items will only receive the full value once... all duplicate items submitted by a team (unless a multi-item treasure like the chess pieces) will be given half the value.

Example: Mysty, Blue, and Jesse all get a Brass Locket Drop sometime during the night. They will get 20 pts for their team for this item .... 10 pts for one locket .. plus 5 for each additional locket.

Bonus pts will be given to the team with the most items collected in EACH collection. If by some chance your team completes a collection, well some bonus pts for that.

NOTE: This is not a task requiring you to complete each collection. Just submit the drops for extra points for your team.

Additional scoring notes:
All Clothing Drops will get 50 pts each drop.

Wild Card Treasure: Playing card drops will be given
3-9 = 5 pts
10-K = 10 pts
Aces = 20 pts
Dueces are Wild = ?? pts... 2-21 pts.. (lol have a random number generator)

While you might designate one person as the photographer for the Enemy Boss battles.. each of you will have to submit your own screenshots of your treasure drops.



PART 3: Going for the Gold.... LEVELING:

Since you will be doing a lot of fighting, I'm also giving points for leveling up. Screenshots required for proof of leveling.

Glow scoring: 10 pts per glow with bonuses.
20 glows or more: 100 pts
15-19 glows: 75 pts
10-14 glows: 50 pts

Extra Bonus points for Double Glows or Triple Glow screenshots (2 or 3 teammates leveling at the same time).

PART 4: AFK SURVIVAL RACE: My Survival .. that is!

At some point, I will call each team in turn to TP to Kelly Wildhawk. As a team you must AFK push me across an area that is full of enemies. You will be pushing, fighting, healing, and probably cursing me out all at the same time. The team to get me the farthest, the fastest, (or hopefully across the finish line) without me ending up in jail wins. I will be using a stopwatch feature on my iTouch to time the pushes.


Part 5: Questions and other stuff to dig around for

1. Name of the lazy blacksmith.
2. Name all of the NPC's who are sweeping?
3. Name the shipwright with a crate still in front of the business.
4. What color is the feather in Miquel Sanchez de Montoya's hat?
5. Since the update to the islands, which NPC no longer looks like an idiot? Why?
6a List the jewelry Garcia de la Avaricia is wearing.
6b Estimate the cost of his jewelry if bought from one of the jewelers.
7. Which tavern has a bouncer at the door?
8. What do you miss about old Tortuga? (Best answer gets the points for the question.)
9. Where can you still find pigs? How many pigs are there?
10. Which SvS Captain is very close to danger? And what is that source of danger?
11. How many treasure chests and how many red bottles can you find inside Devil's
Anvil?
12. Where can you find Marcos Hilo De Rosca Verde and what is odd about him?
13. Name the taverns you can enter / exit from both the front and back doors.
14. How many songs can you buy in the Royal Anchor?
15. How many unbroken cannons can you find at Gunpowder Sam's business?
16. How many pieces of meat will you find hanging in Port Royal?
17. Lol.. Are you looking forward to next week.. or are you putting a hangman's noose around my neck and including my body in the "meat count" in question #16.

I'm sorry but due to personal and unusual health reasons I have decided that I'm not goin' to participate in the second day of the scav hunt. I tried to tough it out but the pain became unbearable. I don't know what I did but my upper back felt like I was having a root canal without the novacaine on it. I just hope it's not something that needs surgery or a herniated disc and that it will get better with just some rest but I don't know at this point. Looks like I'll be going back to the doctor real soon.

So sorry to hear that Enrique...

Perfectly understandable..wow..take care of yourself.

BTW.. speaking as a spinal cord RN.. if you develop any numbness down your arms..don't wait around. Get a referral to a neurosurgeon.

Loads of fun last night - thanks for putting it all together Kelly! So much fun that I ended up dozing off in my chair till 4am, going through screenshots! I'm telling ya POTCO did not want me to get any treasures last night ... talk about stingy.

And yes, I think Moe died 9 times during the Kelly push. One time I TP'ed out of jail, was still in the transition screenm heard the bang of a grenade, never even SAW Tormenta, and woke up in jail. A few other times, I landed as I died, went straight from transitionn screen to falling down dead.

And we needed a little randomness to balance our true natures.

Regarding the teams, later I will repost a list of the teams as they were for the first night and count in Enrique's need to bow out for the second night.

I'm glad that most everyone had fun.

I was planning on hiding my Vi toon, but was unable to run both programs at the same time. The repeating adds on the basic account screen , made it almost impossible for my unlimited acct to load.

Now that I know what was going on with Enrique, and the baptism by fire that was last night, I am anxious to attack it again next Wednesday! BGW needs another lvl 40 to take over for Osprey so that we can try again. I was the one that was always in jail for our team.

i counted 3...but there was 1 red jug looking thing.

and i only counted 14 treasure chests and 1 which looked more like a box and less like a chest...so i didn't count it.

I counted those chests months ago, and I had a 14 count. And I think Kelly may have missed the red bottle that's behind the waterfall on her original count.

I got a close up of the neglected bottle. It's the one I almost didn't count. Walked right over it, yo!
