Also, I have some squid questions. I've had my first encounter with them today, a group of five. Because I've built a bridge to a tower, they're blocked off in this small lake area. Do squid die eventually, or would I be able to block them off in an aquarium area so I could see them any time I want without worry?

I'd kill them for ink but I plan on making an exhibit section of my world and they're in the perfect spot right now. If they don't die and I can block them off in a small aquarium, then this first world is set for an exhibit. I knew the hardest part would be squids so if I have them in an area where they'll live forever, then this makes my day.

I've looked around the net and no one has really answered this question. I know mobs and zombies die but I've never been sure about squids.

Based on my experiences with squids, they will die eventually, but more should spawn in their place.

Also has anyone ever seen a legit pink sheep? Since they were added I have seen only 1 of them. Seems the rarest mobs are Pink Sheep, Spider Jockeys and Slimes. Found a legit slime at the bottom of my missle silo a few days ago.

Also since Better than wolves mod hasn't updated I was forced to make a second world. I named it Lulzville and so far I used World edit to make a 50 by 40 hole in the ocean and am now making an underwater city. Coming along nicely and with Mo' creatures I get a chance to look at underwater life while I build :D

MacIronhawk 07-10-2011 08:53 AM

Swash, I didn't even know there were pink sheep! I've encountered slimes and spiders with mobs on them(I don't know what those grey things are called) but never a pink sheep.

My main city is no where near any huge body of water for me to even think about making an under water city, although I have traveled far outside of the spawn now and when my highways of cobblestone from the main city go far enough out, I'll be making one. Legit, of course, so it's going to take an extremely long amount of time.

Anyone else done a floating city before? After this tower I'm working on and after I finish my "factory", I want to making a floating area, replicated after the nether.

WitchdoctorDan 07-10-2011 05:08 PM

I have had squid spawn in a 3x3 waterfall. They fell down and trampled the crops I had planted at the bottom of the waterfall. As such, I have a lot of resentment for them. :P

MacIronhawk 07-11-2011 06:35 AM

I just finished my tower. It's the one that looks like it has a giant mushroom top. The floor is all glass so I can view all of the factories, generators and farms I have. Currently I only have a sugar cane farm, bread farm, tree farm, Obsidian generator, and a cobblestone generator.

http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...0_21_41_58.png
http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...0_21_43_04.png

The tower is mainly so I can have a nice view but later on it'll be my main view point for a floating nether replica.

Can anyone top my mushroom tower?(don't want to make this a contest, though)

Don't know if it beats your mushroom Mac, but here's my hotel built by me and my friend.

http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/r...-11_132215.png

Built without any mods whatsoever, only thing we used was the multiplayer /give command so it's semi-legit. Oh and you can see my horse in the background, I have Mo' creatures installed.

MacIronhawk 07-12-2011 04:26 AM

That hotel does beat mine! xD It looks really cool, actually. Mind if I "steal" the design for my own?

Swash 07-12-2011 04:48 AM

I don't mind if you use the design. Also here is some more of my art. The only 3D thing I built :D

http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/r...-09_163141.png
In the background is a Zora Fish from the early Legend of Zelda's that I didn't make.

A fun fact about that TNT is that it's also a house on a server.

Dog Gunmorgan 07-12-2011 06:55 PM

Wow Swash that's awesome the hotel and the TNT!

EDIT: I have just purchased the game.. really not sure how to start so any advice would be much appreciated. =D

WitchdoctorDan 07-13-2011 03:12 AM

Dog, look for the Minecraft wiki. It is really helpful to beginners. It has a lot of tutorials from surviving day 1 all the way to building automatic farms and mob killers.

MacIronhawk 07-13-2011 05:34 AM

My advice for anyone new that wants to experience the Adventure Update(1.8) on their first world is, don't travel far. You should be able to find a good amount of diamonds if you just dig deep under ground. I've stuck to my main spawn for a while and I've already found about 80 diamonds(I had more but made tools with them).

I traveled a bit too far out searching for clay and cacti so my massive highway of cobblestone bridges and roads is going to have to get gigantic if I want to get back to my original spawn area.

Dog Gunmorgan 07-13-2011 06:10 AM

found some tutorial vids on youtube the guy is kinda quirky but pretty smart and very helpful. he's made a whole series ranging from making a "hidey hole" on day one to finding a Zombie generator in a deep deep cave. I have some basic Idea's of my own of things I want to try. we'll see how it goes but the best I've been able to do so far is two nights (been figuring out certain mechanics and such.. just learning how everything works) I'll get on my feet eventually and start having some fun building stuff and fighting them Zombies Skellies and those nasty Creepers. /shudder

X's Adventures in Minecraft? He's awesome. I stole the X-Light 9000 from him, though. XD

Also, anyone else ever build a "Tractor Beam"? To connect my original fort to a more luxurious home on a mountain, I built a replica Starship Enterprise with a source block of water in a hole near the middle that flows into a 3x3 shack with a door in the front. To get around, I merely swim up and down. And for good measure, I put a sign reading "Beam me up, Scotty" above the door. XD

Swash 07-13-2011 07:37 AM

You guys asked for 1 pirate ship.... I give you an entire Fleet! Again I can't take full credit for the ships, my friend camel_killer helped me with them. Also they weren't built recently, we built them 2 months ago.

Anyone heard of the Yogscast? They're hilarious! And what exactly is the 1.8 update like? Are NPC villages still included with that?

The Yogcast is actually the reason I started playing Minecraft. Also here is the list of feature planned to come with the 1.8 Adventure Update:

1. Adventure update, to flesh out the game a bit and make exploration and combat more rewarding. Note that this is not Adventure Mode.

2. New features in the terrain generator; things which will only appear in new worlds/new generated areas.

3. Underground Ravines including canyons on the surface and ledges to walk on.

4. Ruins, consisting of 4 new blocks: Stone Brick, Mossy Stone Brick, Cracked Stone Brick, and Iron Bars. (names unconfirmed)

5. Strongholds, which might be an expansion, improvement, or continuation of ruins and could be underground.

6. New Mushroom biome which will include Huge Mushrooms, both brown and red.

7. Larger Biomes

8. Shift+Click on items will work correctly.

9. Labels for items will be added

10. Multiplayer server list.

11. Improved server join screen: The server join screen will feature a list of servers

12. Spike blocks, Jeb initially considered Spike Pistons, but then decided to make a Spike block that can be pushed by the Sticky Piston

13. Player List - Press tab in multiplayer and player list comes up

14. At least one new mob.

15. New improved lighting — day/night cycles will not require chunk updates. Lighting will be updated via a texture, whose coordinates are the block's sky light and block light levels.

16. Warmer light from torches.

17. Possibly Experience Orbs. Has not yet been confirmed by Notch, but is a possible explanation for the Twitter clues he's been leaving.

18. Redstone circuits not working after time set (x) glitch going to be fixed in SMP.

19. NPC Villages with farms.

20. New combat Mechanics

21. New texture for Moss Stone[

22. New and more farming options/items.[26][27] This could be the Cocoa Bean tree Jeb was talking about

23. Possibly farming animals and baby animals

24. Different game modes.

25. Limited flying in Creative mode

26. The ability to allow moderators to enter creative mode in SMP.

27. The ability to store multiple food items more efficiently in inventory.

28. Sliders for field of view, gamma and brightness in video options.
29. New launcher (Possibly).

30. User placed leaf blocks won't decay.

31. A lot of new sounds and some changes, such as minecart sounds and shear sounds, also a change in the sound of rain.

32. New bow sounds (including hits), new door sounds, big slimes sound, and walking skeletons sound more skeletony.

33. Sprinting: By double pressing the forward button, the player will move faster.

34. Critical hits

35. Hold-to-charge bows

36. Animal breeding

37. Player blocking attack animation and hostile mob attack animations, possibly more player animations

38. Modding Support

39. Other secret projects.

Found the list from the minecraft wiki
So far over 30 new features coming with 1.8, so the release date of the update is expected to be somewhere in late August or September.

WitchdoctorDan 07-13-2011 11:21 PM

Sounds good. I guess I picked a good time to get into the game, huh?

Captain Sharktooth 07-14-2011 07:18 AM

I'll try to post some pics of my stuff... not that good though.

For some reason my Minecraft didn't properly update for 1.7, I tried cutting down some trees, but no leaf blocks fell down....

Leaf "blocks". Blocks can only be acquired through shears.

Or are you talking about them disappearing? Do they continue to float in the air without any wood?

Simon Bluefury 07-14-2011 05:27 PM

I play.
My friend hosts a server, so I play a lot of Mulitplayer.

Dog Gunmorgan 07-15-2011 01:12 AM

Hey Swash, been looking around on the server you gave me the IP for... found your giant block of TNT and a few other things... Great work! the best I've managed on the server is a log cabin on the top of a mountain just outside of town... nothing to look at just a place to store my stuff.. gotta get more stuff. Oh btw is there a way to take screenshots in MC?

"F2" is take screenshot. "Fn" and "F2" if your on a Mac. "F1" will clear your screen so screenshots can be clearer. If you need any supplies on that server me and Chainsaw5902 might give you some.

Dog Gunmorgan 07-16-2011 08:03 AM

only supplies I REALLY need is some planks (lots of the really) anyway I figured out taking screens.. where do I find them on the computer? is it in a file like the POTCO screenshots? or what?

Tom Sharkwash 07-16-2011 03:39 PM

To find the screenshots your going to have to press the start button then type in %appdata% in the run (or search if you have windows 7) then roaming, minecraft, screenshots and you should see them

Swash has a server? :o I'd like to see that. I've been looking for a good server forever and all I've been able to find is abandoned servers that have been griefed.

It's too bad people don't know how to protect their servers. Seeing these great structures being destroyed in a matter of minutes by griefers is very upsetting to see.

MacIronhawk 07-20-2011 07:31 AM

I really need some advice here on a project I've been working on.

I'm trying to build an underground city and I was lucky enough to find a huge cave system and as of right now I've got about a third of it all the way to the bed rock. I'm not too worried about connecting the rest of the mines to make one big cube but here's where I'm starting to get worried. I want to build it tall, essentially tall enough so that the top will actually start to fade away in the fog so that I could put black blocks on the ceiling to make it look pitch black. I've gone from bed rock to the tallest mine and that's only about 32 blocks tall. What's a fast way to clear out an area of about 200 by 500 from the surface without spending a good hundred hours? I've already fallen to my death a good four times, too.

P.S. If you're wondering how many diamonds I've found in this mine, it's about 50 in just the past week.

If not, MCEdit is a great tool.

There isn't any way to get through that many blocks without digging it out yourself. If your interested in using mods, get Single player commands and just select 2 points and replace all the blocks in between to air. If your going to be doing this legit, TNT is the only viable solution. If your short on gunpowder, you might want to consider making a mob trap so you can get a good amount of it.

I have the perimeter top surrounded by cobblestone so all I have to do now is cover the top with sand(there's a lot of water) but I guess I could scavage for some gun powder from creepers.

I can see if I want to do this legit(and I do) it's going to take some work. Well, I guess I'll have to get started. This area isn't going to carve itself out.

http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...0_15_49_13.png

EDIT: My progress for today.
http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...1_01_29_16.png

Don't let the picture fool you. The sand you see in the picture only takes up about 10% of the surface. It'll probably take a few days to clear the water out with sand(too bad notch didn't add sponges for survival mode) and then dig it out. It's going to be pretty cool to see a complete chunk taken out from top to bottom, though.

Tom Sharkwash 07-22-2011 02:05 AM

Just started up a new legit world already found 12 diamond :) I also found an awesome world seed with a bunch of cool mountains!

Anyone see Notch's new post? Some guy he knows sent him an email and he's talked about changing the height of the world so that the nether, the main world, and the new sky dimension can all fit without the need of teleportation. It's a cool idea although the lag would be horrible.

Notch also increased the height limit(for himself) to see what the world would look like and it seems mountains look very... odd.

muffin pirate 07-22-2011 06:26 AM

Lag? No.

Unless you use Far render setting :D

See, I use the far render setting because I like to see a lot of things at once. Unfortunately, it does cause a lot of lag. But I've noticed that I really only experience lag around buildings that go above cloud line or mountains. I don't know why I only experience a lot of lag around tall objects but I do. On my underground city I've experienced little to no lag while filling it with sand and digging it ou. I'm a good 40% done now. Here's my progress.

http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...1_21_55_32.png

Once I carve out the sand I'll take a picture and then it'll be time to mine to the bedrock. I'll probably fall to my death a few times since I've cut out a good chunk of the bottom already.

P.S. In the picture you'll note the upper left hand corner is almost done. It was the deepest area so I had to get it out first to save myself from boredom.

It's too bad these aren't in the legit version of the game. See, I really like playing full survival and while mods are cool, when I show people pictures I like to see their reactions to knowing I did everything without a mod.

It's kind of sand(IMO) that some mods are better than things in the actual game. Sometimes I think Notch is a bit lazy.

So I was playing on a pvp server earlier, and me and my friend were literally raiding everyone! We found a small city ran by another faction, and we set up an outpost to launch raids on them. The server was alright if you can handle the drama that goes on. If you want to join you can pm me but don't expect anyone to hold your hand, as it is a hardcore pvp server.

PVP server? Hmm, sounds interesting. The people that visit them often will probably be happy when Notch finally releases the new combat features with 1.8.

Anyways, my progress before I'm gone.

35,000 blocks to take out of this big chunk by my estimate. I didn't realize I was taking on such a big task.

Well, it is still in Beta though. Plus you got to give him props for creating a highly flexible game in terms of add-ons.

I've been playing with the Aether Mod a lot for the past two days. Hands-down one of the best mods ever created, though it's only on version 1.01 (aka, lots and lots of bugs).

I like the idea, although I think in order for the idea to work sandstone would have to be just a little better than cobblestone tools but not as good as iron tools.

It sounds like a good idea, actually. The more uses for sandstone, the better. Right now all it's good for is looks.

If you are also adding armor with the tools then a good feature would be to make the sandstone armor resistant against fire. It would be resistant because sand is in the desert where there is a lot of heat so it would make sense.

muffin pirate 07-24-2011 10:20 PM

But then again Swash, you can't make armor out of cobblestone....

Tom Sharkwash 07-24-2011 10:52 PM

I got to say that Aether mod is AWESOME! I just got it and so far I really like it.

WitchdoctorDan 07-27-2011 09:51 PM

I've been thinking about installing the Aether mod, but I saw a Yogscast that said that it has a ton of bugs, IE: Nighttime crashes. However, Lewis did say that it was the best mod he's ever played, so I probably will install it later. With most mods (for any game) I wait for them to be updated substantially before I install them. Though, from my understanding, the Aether has been highly anticipated and should be fixed quickly. Let's hope I'm right. :P

Captain Sharktooth 07-28-2011 06:19 AM

While digging out the sand and dirt in the area I plan on having my underground town in, I've found a lot of iron and cole at the surface. Literally, just below the dirt there's iron and cole. I've found about four patches of iron on the top, all in groups of three, four, or fives. Iron is the most common ore you can find in the game, at least for me it has been.

I can't wait for 1.8, it looks like it'll be a really big update. Have you guys seen the new mob that's enterting the game? It's this walking, black, squid like thing. And in the picture Notch released, one is holding a block of sand. This scares me. if night weren't already bad, now they can take our items.

I don't know if he'll ever do it, but I'd like to see Notch work on the Aether for the full game. I only play legit(until he has mod support) and I'd like to play the aether. It looks like the best mod out there.

Dog Gunmorgan 07-28-2011 10:18 PM

in my first world I can't find ANY Iron ANYWHERE but in this new it's everywhere.. even inside my Cave/ fortress thing that I've built/am building

Tom Sharkwash 07-28-2011 10:50 PM

I started a new world too since my old ones got corrupted when I got the Yogbox :( but so far I have found a bunch of ores and even diamond :) :) :)

Captain Sharktooth 07-31-2011 11:51 PM

Good tip: 13 layers above bedrock will get you many gems (Diamonds, Iron, Coal).

pieisbetter2 08-01-2011 12:16 AM

Quick question! Anyone have any good suggestions for texture packs? I've looked at some on the minecraft wiki, but I'm sure there are plenty more. Thanks in advance.

I personally use Toongrid, but I know there are some better ones out there. Are you looking for a regular texture pack or an HD texture pack?

pieisbetter2 08-01-2011 12:35 AM

I was hoping for a regular, because getting the HD stuff all set up is just a bit too much for me. Lol

I like Painterly. You can customize it for your own special look very easily and the install is simple enough. It is pretty popular in the community. A lot of Lets-Plays have it and the Yogscast uses it now and again.

Just Google "painterly pack".

Tom Sharkwash 08-01-2011 03:59 AM

I've been using a texture pack from the yogbox called SMP's revival yogbox edition and I really like it, its somewhat of a medieval themed kind of thing here is a video of all the blocks and their looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJljE38dxq0

pieisbetter2 08-01-2011 04:01 AM

Dawkta, if you could PM me or something explaining the painterly pack more thoroughly, I would appreciate that. It looks really awesome xD

WitchdoctorDan 08-01-2011 10:05 PM

Can someone please PM me the IP of a good server? I've been going off of YouTube and the Minecraft forum and all of them were either highly griefed, way too crowded, or were mostly immature people and lazy staff. :P Thanks.

pieisbetter2 08-01-2011 10:26 PM

Alright, so I attempted to install the TooManyItems mod, but it's not working. I looked at videos, followed them all the way, but it still won't work. Any help?

EDIT: I'm not sure if I have to hit save while I'm in WinRAR to keep the mods as is.(?) And yes, I deleted the META-INF file.

Step 1: Download mod
Step 2: Open up Minecraft.jar with WinRar
Step 3: Move .class files into Minecraft.jar
Step 4: Close Minecraft.jar.
Step 5: Play Minecraft
Step 5 1/2: If you get a black screen close minecraft and delete your bin folder and try again.
Step 6: Open up your inventory and press "O" to make sure it works.

pieisbetter2 08-01-2011 10:45 PM

Alright, when I put them in there, it says they're there, I close it, start up Minecraft, press 'O' in my inventory, and it doesn't work.(?)

Are you also installing Zombes Modpack? If you are you need to install TooManyItems last because of some conflict between their .class files.

pieisbetter2 08-02-2011 01:39 AM

Currently, I don't have any other mods installed. Though I'm planning on getting the clay soldier mod, cuz that just looks awesome. Lol

EDIT: If you aren't familiar with the clay soldier mod, here's a video showcasing it epicness. It's truely awesome. Read up on it.

My progress so far. You'll notice a new top section. I have a little factor which I'm using to convert all of the sand I dug out into glass. No snow will be able to enter the city then(yes!) but I'm going to need a lot of glowstone and candles so that the snow won't cover up the glass.

http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...1_20_53_42.png

Only 40 more layers to go! xD

Also, I've been looking at the Aether mod and I'm losing my mind over how cool it looks. If I want to download it, having no other mods installed previously, how do I go about it? I know the minecraft wiki says I need to install three other mods so could anyone go through the process on how to do this?

I don't want to corrupt anything with my existing world and I know I'll mess something up along the way if I try this without knowing how to do everything correctly.

I'll try to help you.

First you'll need a program called WinRar, but 7zip works. If you have a Mac, Archive Utility or The Unarchiver are good programs. The mods you'll need are Audiomod, Modloader, and ShockAPI.

Step 1: Open up your .minecraft folder and go to your bin folder.
Step 2: Open up your minecraft.jar with your unarchiving program.
Step 2 1/2: Delete Meta-INF folder. ( If your on a Mac, delete the contents of the Meta-INF folder.
Step 3: Move all files in the Modloader folder into your .jar.
Step 4: Move all files from the Audiomod folder into your .jar
Step 5: Move all files from the jar folder in the ShockAPI folder into your .jar
Step 6: Move all files from the jar files folder in the Aether folder into your .jar.
Step 7: Close your minecraft.jar
Step 8: Move all files from the Resources folder in the Aether folder into your Resources folder in your .minecraft
Step 9: Go into your saves folder and copy and paste them to your desktop. ( Just in case they get corrupted.
Step 10: Load up minecraft
Step 11: If you get a black screen, delete your bin folder and try again.

Dog Gunmorgan 08-02-2011 08:16 AM

Started a new SP world strictly for building purposes I installed the SP commands mod which allows me to get as many items as I want... I was clearing out an area with my trustly diamond shovel when a thought stuck me... TNT would do this MUCH faster... I may have gone a bit to far...

http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/...-02_024137.png

pieisbetter2 08-02-2011 08:46 AM

Well look on the bright side! I see iron down there! Lol

Dog Gunmorgan 08-02-2011 09:50 AM

ROFL yeah to bad I have already got a large chest full of iron and another one half full diamond... I needed that space to build... but no worries I found an even better location for building not far away.. I'm working on a project.. and thinking up a few others... if they turn out I'll post screens of them it not I post screens of the craters left when I get mad and blow them up lol

pieisbetter2 08-02-2011 11:05 AM

YAY for craters. TNT solves every problem :D

Note on step 6 if you're on a mac; move all the class files over first, then examine the folders within the mod. If you have a folder who's name does not match any folder already in the jar file, just move over the folder. If you do, move the contents from inside the mod folder into the respective folder.

Speaking of the Aether... I just finished a PVP/Spleef Arena.

pieisbetter2 08-02-2011 12:25 PM

O_O I believe you have just outdone yourself.

Dog Gunmorgan 08-02-2011 02:42 PM

that thing is awesome! did you do that legit? (semi at least)

FightingExecutioner 08-02-2011 04:17 PM

Awesome Build! I actually want to get that great, but I'm still trying to work around my problems when it comes to building, which is stop the urge to lay TNT :laughks2:

Captain Sharktooth 08-02-2011 06:55 PM

Well now you can build with TNT. :P As long as there are no levers around....

Well, I had to use TooManyItems, and SPC's fly, infiniteitems, damage, and setspeed commands. But it is hand-built. Could you imagine doing that 100% legit? That's all iron blocks in the frame!

Well, I learned that when I was planning a controlled demolition and placed a TNT accidentally next to the Pressure plate to open the iron door. Lets just say the building that was being demoed was no more but I escaped safely :laughks2:

Tom Sharkwash 08-03-2011 01:51 AM

I am in the search of diamond currently since I only have 15 and need more and was wondering where everyone finds their diamond, in caves or like a tunnel down low?

WitchdoctorDan 08-03-2011 02:45 AM

Wow Stephen. That is utterly amazing. I thought the mansion I built that took 5 days was good. It actually seems unworthy now that I've seen that Arena. Imma just destroy it and live in a hole in the ground now. XD

And Tom, Look for a REALLY large cave system that goes so far down you find still lava pools. Diamond is usually around lava pools.

"Look at your boring, old, iron pick. Now look at me. Now, look back at the pick. THE PICK IS NOW DIAMONDS."

The best method (I find) for finding diamonds is going down coordinate y:14, and digging single 2h x 1w tunnels straight. Then, every 3 blocks, dig into the side down four blocks (just 1h x 4l space). I found 30 diamonds and nearly 2000 redstone within 4 days.

The key really is to get down to coordinate y:14. Diamonds only appear in chunks from 16 down, and 14 is just above where lava pools will spawn.

I'm not going to lie, while it's not legit, it's beautiful.

I'm doing my underground city completely legit and I actually regret it. This is going to take an extremely long amount of time and that's only the first underground city. The second will be accessed from an enterance similar to that of the Parthenon and will look like a park in the Nether.

Doing things legit is extremely hard. I can't believe I decided to start this project. It'll be big enough when I'm done, though, so that I'll be able to make a good 20 buildings in the area. Don't know what I'm going to do. I'll probably ask people for ideas when I finally get to the bottom.

Also, here's my progress for today.
http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/g...2_16_58_27.png

I guess I can't say I'm upset. I've already found five 64 stacks of Iron at the top ten layers.

I use TMI and SPC too I'm working on some things.. I have a world just for building on which I play peaceful so no creepers blow up my stuff (only I'm allowed to do that) my current project is a minecart system the station is on the roof of my house so I just climb a ladder grab a cart from my dispenser and take off. I have one junction so far.. working on extending it farther.. we'll see how it turns out. when I'm satisfied with it I'll post a screen shot or two.

WitchdoctorDan 08-03-2011 06:52 PM

MacIronhawk, how big is your quarry? XD

Anyways, after being dragged to Mau5ville by a friend against my will, I learned 3 things:

1: My Internet connection is terrible
2: Don't take the "subway"...
3: Watch out for Deadmau5's traps....

FightingExecutioner 08-03-2011 11:52 PM

I thought I should go ahead and show you guys one of my past builds:

This was made on my second world, I'll show the first later as it is not ready to be seen :piratetongueor4:

I wanted it to be 200 by 50(I said 500 in an earlier post, I don't know why) but the way it's set up it's 114 by 56. Let's assume I have 40 more levels to go. That means I have 255,360 more blocks to carve out in order to reach the bedrock.

Basically, one 114 by 56 layer which has a height of one block has 6384 blocks/bricks/squares to be taken out. Currently, I'm doing an average of about 1/4 of a layer a day. I don't expect to be done with taking out the entire volume for another few months if I continue at my pace. I am slowing down to work on other, smaller projects because this is very big for just one person.

Please note that there are huge cave systems which you can't entirely see yet which will make my job a lot easier because there will be less blocks to clear out. I almost feel silly for taking on a task which could take minutes if I just downloaded the proper mod.

I believe by doing this completely legit will earn you major kudos in the Minecraft community. I'm sure others have done similar things, but it's still downright awesome.

Mac, if you can send me the map, I'll put it up on my server and we can all help you with it. We'll do it legit and we'll be able to get it done quicker than just one person working on it. It's up to you, but with all our help you can probably get it done in a few days.

Also does anyone know if were allowed to post videos on here. I made a video of one of my minecraft worlds and I want to know if it's ok to post it.

MacIronhawk 08-04-2011 07:49 PM

I'm not too sure about the videos and I don't want to give you the wrong idea, either but... I've seen mods post POTCO videos before so I think something PG rated such as minecraft would be perfectly fine.

Also, how would I send you the map?

Dog Gunmorgan 08-04-2011 08:23 PM

Go into your .saves file copy the world save and PM it to him.

Go to your .minecraft, go to your saves folder, copy your world file, upload it to a file sharing website, and pm me the link.

Also about my video, I'm going to put it off until I'm done with my world and then take another video of the finalized version. Right now the video is 3 min. long and just shows the inside of my city, not much detail yet.
