Oh, the reason why there's no option for the graphics is because DirectX is a M$ thing... :)

Here's the solution: empty the cache folder.

The cache folder is in PiratesOnline.app/Contents/MacOS/cache . Remove all of the files in this folder and you should be good to go.

If you use Finder, browse to your PiratesOnline application. Control-click on PiratesOnline and pick "Show Package Contents" from the context menu, which will reveal the Contents folder. Browse within this to the MacOS and cache folder. When you get to the cache folder, select all the files and delete them.

Or, you can just uninstall the application and let the whole thing redownload. But that's the slow way.

Thats probably why I had no issues... I re-downloaded the game because my HD was fixed and erased.

Disney needs to think about changing this:

Game System Requirements:

Mac:

OS 10.4.6 (Tiger)

PowerPC G4 or any Mac with any Intel processor

512 MB RAM

700 MB free disk space

Broadband connection

I just got an email from POTCO saying the very same thing. Am going to now attempt the feat and be amazed that Dis actually sent me a fix rather than the usual blaming it on my Mac's vid card, or Apple, etc etc. (Yes, I don't know how many times they have told me any or all of that.) LoL

The fix:
"Thank you for your bug report to Pirates of the CaribbeanOnline.

The issue you are experiencing may be resolved by deleting the contents of the cache folder in the PiratesOnline.app directory on your computer.

To delete the contents of your Pirates Online cache folder, complete the following:

•Go to the location where you installed Pirates. The default location is the Desktop
•While holding down the Control key, click on the Icon
•Select Show Package Contents
•Click on Contents | MacOS | cache
•Select All of the items inside the cache folder and choose Delete

After you have deleted the items in your cache folder, log back in to Pirates Online.

If you continue to have problems after doing this, please submit another bug report.

Thanks again for your email and we look forward to seeing you soon in Pirates of the CaribbeanOnline."
