just curious, isnt age the pretty much the SAME thing as telling your gender? I mean really..if someone is 20 for example...theres millions and millions of people in the country who are 20..not a big deal.

Knowing someones age doesnt harm anyone in any way, is what im saying...

and if im wrong then tell me, thats why im asking.

Because its my information - and my business to give out. Anything which can identify you is yours - including age.

Keep in mind that POTCO is NOT real life people... its a computer game simulation - and like any other computer information can be used and obtained for bad as well as good. No 'real' information is needed to play this game with others (with the exception being Disney and directly to your account - though only necessary information should be provided).

I agree, I don't think knowing someone's age is necessarily harmful. However, suppose a not-so-morally-straight adult discovers he/she is playing with a child. He/she could subtly get the child to reveal where he/she lives, etc etc etc. This can quickly escalate into a pretty severe problem that can endanger children, and Disney certainly doesn't want to be liable for anything that may happen. Therefore, I think it's for the best that they try to keep personal info personal. Although you and I know how much is TOO much to reveal, a child may not realize the potential danger and may tell more than is wise. I give preventive measures 2 thumbs up. :) But I'd love to know what kind of idiot tried to give their account information away...

Did I not mention, this was when they visited the Tavern's, lord no, I could never expect anything out of a Role-play event, that's why I never went. I'm just saying that the time they went to the Tavern's they seemed to want to be more rude than informative.

Ummmm It wasn't in game......Rofl Leave it to us DW's to go break rules again. I wonder if it was Basil trying to get Jess set up on vent.....

Vent is a wonderful thing if you are and adult....if by age only

Basil Dreadflint 03-05-2009 12:44 AM

Not us Bella,

This has nothing to do with anything regarding vent, or outside chat. This is
A) A routine warning.
B) Due to people who use public access puters, and don't erase their acct. info when they log out, then other people get into their acct.
OR
C) Complaints D has gotten because people's accts. got hacked.

Every company puts out warnings like this. It's routine protocol.
Remember, Disney is the biggest supplier of online games for younguns, they need to make sure they cover all the bases.

I just noticed something about this one... it's only one day... I guess I won't be goin' then. I'll have to miss another tour.
