I've been thinking if they are gonna make this stick that they should lower the yearly price to $20 a year instead of $80 cause we really are getting shafted on the price. I could spend about $50 for a playstation game and more than one of us can play it at once. I do believe I hear some of the new ps3 games can even support up to 16 players online. And I don't believe there is a yearly service charge on top of that.

The email I got about rates had it at over $100 for the year paid in full. They were trying to auto renew on my ATM card that I had cancelled over the winter. So I called in and was told the same thing with the rates. However today when I checked it was $79.99 for the year.

Anyway... I still am not going to renew until I am able to have my other pirates be allowed to be online at the same time. My son can't play with my online when I am online so there is no point to keep it going. THAT was one of the major points that sold me on playing the game in the first place.

That was the final straw for me. Without the linked accounts my wife wouldn't be able to play at the same time I did. I'll give Disney credit though for having an online method to cancel the subscription.

I posted to their grog blog, put a note on the front News page here at the forums and I'll leave a final note here. I have advised their customer service personnel they have until 7/1 to re-implement the linked account functionality SO I CAN SUPERVISE MY CHILDREN'S ONLINE ACTIVITY, which IS A SECURITY FEATURE, or I am cancelling the subscription. Two other families I know are doing the same. We need a running tally somewhere of exactly how hard this will hit their bottom line so they can be properly encouraged to put the linked accounts back the way they were. This makes our children LESS SAFE, not more and this is simply a ploy to get more money out of my pocket, which is in very short supply these days as it is. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? This is a luxury item for all the parents I know...one we can very easily live without. It would be a shame for Disney to have to abandon this project due to lack of financial support, but that seems to be where they've been headed for a LONG time. I agree that the removal of the % completed functionality also signals that. They can't afford to develop another chapter so they want new players to be in the dark with regard to how much real gameplay there is left. How sad! I'll be back on 7/1 to say goodbye if that's what's meant to be. BAD FORM DISNEY!
