I like using fury, its by far the strongest shot if you put 5 in it, and can be deadly close up because of this. As for the option of it being annoying in SVS.. yes, it is.. but annoying = challenging, which makes it fun :)

I hate fury, its useless for targeting, and most of my shots are long range. I like the challenge of shooting off sails before sinking the ship. I usually come back into port with lightning gone, and fury barely used, if at all.

I dont do much close combat - and I hate that it blinds you when you shoot. Its also horrid during boss battles -when your crew uses it, you seem to lag.

I think fury is awesome! My cannon in only level 20 and so is my sailing... and I'm a level 42! I haven't maxed it. It is only at 2.

I love it! There is nothing cooler than having a full crew and seeing that Fury broadside from all yer mates firing at once. Nothing stands a chance. Of course nothing makes you spin the wheel faster than seeing the same thing coming at you from a ghost ship! lol

The new ocean physics make that much more difficult by the way. Ships are a lot more sluggish when starting and stopping now.

Interesting post. I love it, and firebrand. Seeing as we still do not have the kracken (nor do I believe we will, if ever, for some time) there is not much use for grape, unless you SVS. I do so I have one in it. Thunder shot is good for taking out sails but the reload takes too long and if you dont hit a broken panel (armor) the damage is not so great, not as great as fury would do. All I do is SVS. I hate leveling but do it if no one is in SVS. I'll share my set up with you.

Shoot: 5
Roundshot: 5 ( with this you dont need a thing on broadsides, in fact maxing out broads only gives you 200 more damage)
chain: lol..are you kidding?
Firebrand: 5 , The ONLY ammo to get thru take cover.
Thunder: 1 , only need it for sails.
Fury: 5 , love the sight of multiple 600's in a row

Reload: 5 barrage: 0 shrapnel: 4 (once again dont need grape when every shot you fire is doing the same thing)

You can find me on andaba or abassa sailing Black Hunter or Black Destroyer in SVS. Or gunning on Black Eagle.

Almost forgot. For those who believe its just good up close and useless long range, well I would disagree. Most of the time im in a light sloop and really dont want to get close to the larger ships. I can hit a ship on the third compass setting with Fury. Just practice and you will too!

My view point is that if you know how to use round shot, you can use fury. I find that the aiming is pretty much the same, and the only differnece I can find is that fury "floats" alittle more than the round shot.

I think it is a very useful, and powerful tool in BB's for those that know how to use it along with Thunderbolt. I've never lagged while using it in a BB, or experience lag while someone else uses it in a BB. Actually, I the only lag I've noticed in a BB, is in the beginning facing the officers.

Rank 1 fury stinks for me. Lvl 5 fury is a pirate's best friend! (Move over, parrots!)
