At first I noticed this topic and thought I had missed some big goings-on in the game today while I was out of town... I see I missed nothing lol.... If I knew where the Marceline Guild was, and who to tell I'd turn them in. This role play aspect is the worst attempt at trying to make the game interesting, we role play while we play the game (complete quests)... If it is up to me to come up with story lines, I would like to be put on the game developer's pay-roll list :laughks2:

They are trying to make the game more of a role playing thing. I think they have failed to get any new development done, especially since they made some promises earlier this year, and they are trying to give us SOMETHING to keep us active and involved.
Putting a few of their own 'players' into the game and developing a continuing story line is a touch that you don't see in other games. A live interactive person has to be behind the EITC face. Name another game that does this!!!???

Personally, I would rather have the new story chapter, higher notoriety and weapons levels, the ability to customize my ships, even just a little, bigger storage and gold capacity, etc., etc.

The real problem with an event like this, or any other, is that it has to be done on selected servers only, and those servers pack up so bad that the lag is unbearable.

If you ask me, they should have less fun and actually be working for a pay. I'm rather sure that Captain Walter is just a man who sits around and does nothing but mess around.

:pirate_flag: Fantastic summation Basil !! :buds:
I wholeheartedly agree with you and personally appreciate your constructive influence.

I agree we need some content rolled out, for sure, but I also see many things we have in Disney that no others come close to offering,.. we have several theme parks and a attraction named after the game we so love. I can tell you, as it was openly stated at the E3 Expo Disney booth by Disney staff, that Disney Pirates is around for the long haul and developers are diligently working on advancing the game and content.
Disney does not have a 400 person staff that Blizzard entertainment of the World of Warcraft has devoted to the one game of Pirates Online.
Blizzard / WoW is all and what they are,.. just the game. Disney is not just Pirates Online, as we all know, far from that, but a part of Disney..... a community of Disney, a MMO that is more than just playing, it appears they are building up a community of Pirates Online, more than just a game of offered content and distance, but trying to reach out and interact along side of us in the Caribbean world, like Basil said, name a large and known MMO that does that… it is just like Disney! (clap-clap-clap)
The interaction offered is just like what Walt Disney himself would have done, just like the way he would have run the game, and this is what makes Disney Pirates so unique and enjoyable for myself and my whole family.
I see some disgruntled Pirate who, as it seems, view this game like other MMO’s and do comparisons with other MMO’s, but I respectfully believe this view is a incorrect perspective in that our game is very different in how it is designed and structured, or even as it is continually being structured.
They stated in the blog previously, they are trying to incorporate players desires into the game as much as possible coupled with the delicate balance of continuing the chart of flow to the proper direction and goal, all of course working on staying within Disney’s code of conduct. This must a difficult and consuming task I would imagine.
Truthfully, in regards to Pirates, I have not seen anyone not jump in with excitement when addressed by a GM, called by name and requested their presence in the GM Crew when asked. It is a thrill for us all. I am with Lizzy, I too am a firm believer and supporter.

Last,…
Raikel,
Your comments toward the Pirates Staff and how they should not have any fun and “work” for their pay, as if they do not, is certainly your opinion, I for one believe they put in more hours than you can imagine and even weekends and evenings to accommodate the continuing of content and in game appearances. I for one, who is a paying member of several accounts, is pleased to see them enjoy the game and their jobs.
Your comment on Captain Walter is attacking him as a person behind the avatar and his work ethics.
Saying he is “just a man who sits around and does nothing but mess around” is a very careless and uncalled for statement.
