I find it eternally annoying that D all but said drop out of the small guilds. I've been small and large, and yes, for me I feel right at home as a Duece. But I also know there are many players who prefer small guilds. Why should D be encouraging (or even hinting) those players to leave where they are comfortable and happy, just for some competition geared toward the big guilds. Bad call on D's part.

If they really wanna do it right they should have like 3 classes of guild. Little guilds for the 75 or less, Medium for the up to 250, and Mega for anything bigger. That way even the little guilds could compete in their level, and not be encouraged to go bigger for the sake of a contest. That's a low blow even for D.

Guilds are a dime a dozen. The right guild for you is priceless! D should know this. I feel sorry for them that they don't. I think they will find that few if any at all players are gonna swap guilds for this.

Disney wasn't thinking! They have no new content for open, they know that guilds are creating their own "games" in order to keep everyone busy and active, and they saw this as an opportunity to hold a week long activity. I don't believe that they intended to say, "If you are in a smaller guild, quit and join a large guild so that you can win this." It is what they posted though.

In truth, Since this competition is for 9 days and is a guild vs. guild event, the movement of a few pirates from one guild to another, say a smaller guild to a large guild, is going to have little impact on the outcome.

There are guilds out there who consistantly are in the top 5 on a daily basis, and they will continue to do so during this contest, and they will win it.

I, as a Guild Master, would be rather leery of accepting a lot of new members during this week. A guild is usually a close knit group, we are all 'friends' in the game. Anyone who would JUMP guilds, just to say that they were part of the 'winning' guild for this one 9 day event is probably someone who wouldn't fit in, or stay.

Likewise, anyone who would leave a guild to go to a different one just to be part of the winning team, is someone I would probably NOT welcome back.

Carribea... sounds kinda like Narnia. If they wanted to make a fair contest, they could count the 12 top contributors or so from each guild (those that killed or sank the most enemies). For instance, if the 12 top people of the Rogues sunk 5 ships, and everyone else sunk 4, they'd treat it as if the Rogues sunk 60 ships.

Perhaps it would be fair to measure a Guilds success by dividing the enemies killed, ships sunk, etc by the number of members in the guild, giving us an "average" per guild member. Reward guilds on that premace, larger guilds may still be at a slight advantage, but it seems it would be a bit fairer that way.

The only advantage of a big guild is that you may have more people online at any one time. Doesnt mean you will win though if those that are online just stand around chatting all day every day.
What if you were a smal guild of say 50 ppl but in your guild you had the top 10 ship sinkers. I wouldnt call that a disadvantage to being in a small guild. Therefore I dont think its the size, but the people you have in your guild.
In McRaging we just happen to have those people that like to sink ships and defeat enemies and be top of the overall leaderboards. We are dedicated and thats what puts us at the top.
We're all excited and want to help our guild to win so are prepared to sink a few more ships or defeat a few more enemies than usual just to help out.
Good luck to all and may the best guild win!

May the guild that defeats the most enemies win. I don't believe that just because a guild is big/defeats the most enemies that they're the best. It's all a matter of opinion.

They could have done better with this contest but instead they wanted to be biased. In my opinion all Disney cares about now is the money. Entertain the guilds by putting up a contest and then rewarding them with recognition is a great way to keep us busy why they sit there doing nothing. I don't think Walt would have done that if he were here.
