Dunno about anyone else, but I was la-g-g-g-ging major league last night - so elements of this maintenance may have already been happening... including getting booted.

Sadly - it occurred during a boss battle!!

But, I'm very much looking forward to any glitch fixes, streamlining, and updating etc. to make our voyages smoother.

Any updates, or maintenance is appreciated as there has been fair amount of lag recently. If some or even just one of the talked about features are put in, then great!
Revive looks like a dead handy tool, especially if your Guild is on the move taking out a few EITC and Skele Boss'. TP from jail is well annoying.
Though whilst it maybe sometime, personally Im eager for ship customization. Personalizing your ship or ships promotes your Pirates character and you on the high seas!

I think that this was all a cover up for a coffee break, but that's just me.

The Skirata Clan 07-24-2009 03:39 AM

maybe it is to catch up with all the enemies that are getting butchered.

League 07-24-2009 03:41 AM

Maybe they started running out of enemies Skirata. They don't grow on trees.

Erich Uchiha 07-24-2009 04:14 AM

Matters which enemies, Skellies come from... Dead People, Davy Jones' Crew...
i'll just say "Do you feel Death?" EITC come from Rouge Pirates and people not loyal to the Pirate Code.

On the other hand I think Stumps grow on trees... or are they trees? We may never know. :laughks2:

Okay. Here's some side-by-side pics of the same exact pirate I made on Open and Test using the biggest male body type. The current version is more desirable? Seriously? I think the new version on Test does have the same general hourglass figure but it's just not as exaggerated as what we have now on Open.

Personally I liked the ridiculous characters for some of my pirates forming League. While I'm not exactly that buff in real life, it's nice to exagerate a little. I'm thinking that musculature and fat and such could be added in as customizable things. Shoulder width, waist width, etc, could be there too.

Jack Sunskull 07-24-2009 07:37 PM

That stinks if they reduced my pirates size, I kinda liked looking big and strong.

The Skirata Clan 07-24-2009 07:50 PM

Question... Is this going to apply to all characters already created or just to newly created characters? Testers did you characters changed? I like Ordo buffed. He can kill a bear with his hands and carry an ox around his shoulders. If he changes he will look more like a trucker. Not that's anything wrong with trucking but my character was intended to look strong.

Personally, I find that where you live may have alot to do with this.

West coast, land of sun, hot weather, fitness, body building, beach goers and surfers...
Midwest folks are a bit stouter in general.

The "Open" physique is much more realistic to me (as far as seeing a strong man), than the "midwest" look that we see on test (stout regular guy look)

I personally have that "midwest" physique... its hard to find clothes that fit ME (they fit most the people out here) properly on the west coast. If you have a waist size over 34-36" you cannot go to the regular department stores on the west coast, not unless you plan on just looking at what all the body builder types with big chests/arms, and small waists are wearing. You have to find yourself having to shop for clothes at not so prestigious places like Target, Walmart, and Kmart, your typical clothing stores dont carry stuff for that "stout" look. Not even the big chains Sears, JC Penny, etc carry stuff that fits (they quickly refer you to their catalog ordering counter).

When I visit the midwest, I find clothes that fit at every store that sells clothing! Why? Majority of the regional population has a different body type, than those on the west coast.

Not sure what to say is realistic.
Other than that... this is a game, its a fantasy at that.
Id rather have the big muscle bound looking like guy on Open, than the test one.
If I wanted realistic, id turn off the computer and go to the park and do something. ;)

The pictures above to me.. represent...

Open - Fit/Body builder/strong
Test- Everyday middleaged stout/chunky guy.

When I selected my body types in the game, I did so on Disney's advice picking what I wanted, and how I wanted to look. Now they are going to change that? Technically that just took existing players right of having their own customized avatar away by replacing it with what Disney thought was best. Major foul.

You want to see chunky? I'll take screenshots of the next body type down from that one. That one actually has a rum belly!

I can agree there though I didn't make Sven look the way I actually wanted him to look. At the time, none of the body types really suited him. I chose the skinny lanky body type because I felt the bigger ones were too over the top.

If Disney really wants us to customize our avatars, then they should let us fine tune more details about them. We can already customize the faces, jaws, etc but the torsos not so much. Although I can see a reason why they wouldn't want to do that. More vertices and polygons.

Crazypirate 07-24-2009 10:41 PM

My original pirate on test hasnt changed to match the new body types he is still the same as when I made him although making another that looks similar is now out of the question.

Most games that I have found that involve creating full body avatars have more control over it than POTCO allows. They should simply add more models, more choices/selections, and not change what currently is in the game. If they added more models to give a larger variety of body styles then that would hopefully not be too many vertices/polygons, etc.

Are these new models to improve performance? or to improve looks? Not sold on the looks side of things at all, to be sure. At least not on the more normal and larger sized models.

Now I have seen some 'stick' figure pirates, where the models could maybe give them a bit more flesh on thar bones!
