Great job everyone!!!!!!

Awesome - 10 hours of SLEEP! Been a while LOL
My baby pirates are in the Baratarian Guild - congrats to my mates for a good showing!

A mate of mine figured out that if Invincible Warlord was realing racking up 17000 kills a day, thats literally 1 kill every 9 seconds for 24 hours straight. Something don't jive.

Actually not that unrealistic. I'm a novice at ranking enemies and still get 2400 to 2600 or so in just under 3 hours. Would be more if I didn't stop to chat or do other things. :) 17K in 14 to 16 hours spread out over the 24 hour period is quite possible.

Spent all day yesterday on & off ranking & the boards aren't updated? ARGH!!!!!!!

Edit: I guess, from what I have heard, the defeated enemies from yesterday are added in...so it's all good then..

Griz,

Not to say that it's impossible. I know I've racked up nearly 1k in a pretty short run - definitely not out of the question. Just can't imagine doing that night after night after night after night... In short bursts, where leveling or trying hit a mark makes sense, but at some point, my hand would fall off.

Anyone else think that's an idea of fun? Killing 15,000 gators or scorpions for 12-16 hours a day?

Thats a little ways off, but a good guess. IW goes to cuba, thats 18 kills a minute if done right. That eventually gives you a little over 1k an hour, meaning 17k isn't the full 24. Kate Hexsilver got over 24...25k? She said that was 22 or so hours.

It might not be fun to many (me included), but those that get that high a number do it because they want to see their guild (and their own) numbers increase... but you're right, I can't see how they stand it lol

Eliza Creststeel 07-23-2009 04:03 PM

Wow...

Just can't see how some folks can do that more than once a week, let alone 5-7 days a week at a pace like that... I'd try a marathon like that - I'd be divorced and unemployed.. :)

LOL you and me both. :) I guess it really just comes down to what you are happy doing. I'm done after about 2 and a half hours (or until the music I'm listening to is done playing). It takes all types, I tip my hat to the ones that can manage it.

I'm friends with Kate, i remember when she got around 25k in one day. Yeah, it's crazy to think about playing 22-23 hours straight running in circles shooting gators without taking any breaks for the most part.

I hear you. When you're married with children it's hard to spend more than an hour or two playing POTCO. I'm lucky when i'm able to defeat more than 1k enemies, and even when i do have the time, i just don't enjoy playing the game that way...running in circles for hours, to each their own though.

Eliza Creststeel 07-23-2009 05:35 PM

Done whining... back to the slaughter. Sorry mates. Actually not very competitive person, but when someone did the math and showed me what it would take to rack up scores like - my jaw dropped.

I still plug away with Eliza because I would like to get her into the Top 200 pirates All-Time for ships and kills. I know I couldn't break the Top 100 since most are still so active.

Actually dont take that long to get to the top 100 for ships (well for me anyway). Get urself a good crew and set sail and ur numbers will/should start adding up. And fish the right spots helps as well...:)

That's not what the original Announcement stated:

"When: July 17, and running until July 26
What: We'll be looking for the guild that have defeated the most enemies, sunk the most ships and beat back the baddest baddies. "

Bartholomew Foulsteel 07-24-2009 03:48 AM

You are correct. I had recently checked out the post and they said ships sunk too.

HOWEVER, I do believe that one ship sunk counts as one enemy.

Sven Osymthe 07-24-2009 03:56 AM

I was just going off of the recent post since I wasn't really competing. And I believe Bart is right, if thats the case.

But I am not so sure about them really counting the ships to the total, or if its just a separate thing. I know they said it in the first page, but if thats the case, the numbers just aren't adding up.
