Well, as it is, Ive been the only Korsair banned out of the countless times infidel was used. I'm not the greatest user of infidel either, Leon is, but he quit about 3 months ago, but still if I wasn't the only one, why just ban me? And why not ban anyone while infidel's usage was in it's prime? It's seems a tad strange, and from looking in an online dictionary, the definition of infidel was stated as:

But I've recently sent a few Emails to Disney concerning this and am waiting for a reply.

The problem 22 is the meaning such word has acquired. It has and is used in a context of hatred towards someone or something. The meaning of words and things change too. They can't tell the content in which the word is used. Use this experience as reference. If you were banned twice for it just don't use it ever. If they say its a "problem word" then abide by their rules. After all its their game. I would leave the case of the meaning of the word out of your pleas to return to POTCO. Just apologize and hope for the best. I know you can be smarter than that.

Wow... You guys nailed it. The real definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Disney doesn't like the word infidel. Achilles, a fellow player and Gulf War Veteran does not like the word infidel. I (a veteran but not a war veteran) don't like the word infidel. Too many people have been killed for being "infidels". It is a religious reference no matter HOW you want to twist the meaning. Man up and let this one go. It's a 24 hour suspension. Read a book or take a walk.

EDIT: OK 22. I remember you now. A decent but misguided Pirate. You have been banned a lot. You really need to let this one go before you get IP banned.

But the way we used it as more for doubting or rejecting principle or system ect.
As is rejecting gravity or rejecting that donuts are good.
As a person who has earned a living with words, there is no way you can use the words doctrine, system or principle in the context in which they were intended and casually state that it is about rejecting gravity or donuts.

You said what I assume to be "Silence Infidel". 22, you can't use high school logic to blame "the other guy." By your own admission you were nearly banned for the SAME WORD USE! Using "infidel" again just shows poor judgment or a complete rejection of the DOCTRINE, SYSTEM and PRINCIPLES that Disney has in place...

Drop the word "Infidel" from your lexicon mate. Play well and play often...as soon as your ban is lifted.

Well they have NO right to ban you. They LET you say it and since it was approved, they really can't ban you. Contact them and tell them that this isn't really fair. maybe they'll fix this and put it in red.

i have to agree nuju... if they banned you once for it, i'd have to say the korsairs need a new word. I would REALLY hate coming back to the korsairs only to find you permabanned again. by the way, be careful about contacting big mickey so often. after awhile they might just get irritated enough to blacklist your IP adress or something like that...well i dont know if they can do that, but you get my point.

Here's the definition of infidel from wiki.

Quote:

Infidel (literally "one without faith") is an English word meaning "a person who does not believe in religion"
I can see why you would be banned and/or suspended for using this word in the game. It targets certain people.

All I can say is that you should probably have more appropriate word choices when it comes to an E10+ game.

P.S.Angel Seafish, if you have open chat, you can literally say anything. I can say numbers, curse words, etc... Of course I don't, but with open chat, you can speak with other people who have open chat just like you would in real life. People without open chat can't see it, but people with it can.

So... you can say just about anything in the game, but it doesn't mean you should. Disney is giving us freedom of chat in the game, and if we choose to go against the rules by using... offensive rules, we will get in trouble.

The Skirata Clan 11-28-2009 11:47 PM

The whole story is not fully told.... Lets just say that it was well deserved.

Let this particular case serve as an example to other players when it comes to word usage, meanings, and contexts.

22 Might get his account restored, hopefully, and the lesson is learned.
