i would wait even longer just to have no holes or bugs to another chapter. they have enough issues as it is

I dont think any update should be released without being 'completed' and thoroughly tested. But looking at POTCOs approach on past updates however I cannot believe that this "idea" is the reason for any delay. Being 'buggy' has not slowed them from going live before, why would it now?

I hope they come out with the story chapter when its ready, and I do hope its soon.
When? Quite frankly after having waited 18 months already, "NOW" is actually quite a reasonable expectation from a business/client relationship perspective, which we are all in with POTCO when we 'pay to play'....

Treating the subject like its brand new, and as if noones been waiting a long time already is rather misleading, and does a disservice IMO to the community. However on the flipside, it does POTCO a great service of delivering POTCOs propaganda to cover up how slow things have come along. Unfortunately that seems to be the attitude one must have to receive POTCO managements light of favoritism, and be invited to special unannounced engagements/events.

Well said Doctor! All so true.

Personally I would not want to see any new features released very buggy. A buggy release is, in my opinion, worse than waiting longer for a good release. It has been a very long time since we have seen an update regarding a story chapter, and I admit that I am quite impatient now myself, but I would rather wait for something I can enjoy than get something I cannot.

Angel Seafish 11-26-2009 07:57 PM

Depending on how serious the bug is. If it was rushed and there was NOTHING good about it, then there was no point.

they move lvl up...but no quest line to go with them still waitin on somthing beside grindin

I agree with Captain Grizzly. New updates should be released when ready. And as far as the second story line, Disney will release it when it's ready.

And one of the best ways to get noticed and invited to special events is to play the game for fun, be helpful to all pirates, and always have a positive attitude when writting posts.

If Disney does fall under the pressure and rush out the new story chapter, even if it does have holes, flaws and/or glitches, would you still be pleased with it being out?

The kind of holes, flaws and glitches I'm talking about, of course, are those like the unability to continue with the quest, it being extremely short and simple, etc. I'm just interested.

I'm going to admit - I've avoided this thread like the plague :D but not because I have no interest in it...

Out of my few thousand posts on these forums - I'm pretty sure a few hundres of those have been me posting VERY long winded posts about how a storyline should of come along before now, about times and anniversaries with no releases, about my and others fustrations. I had to go back to see what I actually said in some of those there had been so many.

It was one of my first posts though that really answered the question for me in this case though. When I first got the game - I couldn't sail. The sail-crash glitch with ATI cards. What a pain that was. Almost my entire first month was spent on Port Royal... and only Port Royal. Everytime I went to sail - *poof*. You know how many L3 Guards you have to kill when your stuck on that island for a month to Level that Sword? LOL :D

If we're talking about releasing a storyline where bugs like that existed and I though there were many players that couldn't go farther than point X in the story? Then no - keep it on test. Since we all know that releases will come on open with some issue - lets just hope that the number is few anf far between - they fix as much on test as possible, and they fix issues as fast as possible once it hits open.

Yes!

YES!

I would just be pleased when they finally roll out a second chapter. If there are any bugs, players would just report them and a fix would be released.

blaster54 04-15-2010 01:06 AM

to tell u the truth i dont care about any bugs i just wanna fight the kraken! ;(

sushi064 06-04-2010 02:27 AM

YES! I recently finished the Black Pearl quest and was pretty much lost after that, until I found the Jewelry and Clothing quests to increase my rep to level up 2 Lvl 30.

sushi064 06-04-2010 02:29 AM

*sigh

Sometimes, I hate Disney. They say to expect updates "very soon" and very soon never comes. About a year ago, a GM or someone said to expect ship customization within the next 30 days. Well, many long and wide 30-day periods have lapsed and now here we stand without ship customization or many other updates promised to be rolled out "soon".

James Bladefury 06-04-2010 02:22 PM

If you guys dont remember the developer diary that said about the kraken, it said this: "...Since game performance is the foundation to everything, it just makes sense that we fix that first before adding new content, Story Quests and raising those Level and Gold caps." and... "The Kraken: ...Well, it is basically our next story chapter, MANY THINGS WILL BE TIED TO IT, such as Notoriety increases, NEW STORY Quests (like the casa de muertos lost weapons quest), and so much more."

Yes, make sure the story chapter is perfect before its released.

Raikel 06-05-2010 01:01 AM

You have to think most of all. How long will this next chapter be, and will it be more than just finding folks to help you sail the Pearl. I do not really care to just take out certain ships and kill a certain number of one enemy. I am glad we are getting new islands, which means a possibility of more enemies. (Not crossing my fingers of the undead not looking like previous undead enemies of lower levels.). I do however want another force against us, something like Voodoo Warriors. People who use the forces of the Earth to attack their enemy.

I hope this update will add enemies with Staves and Fire arms as well. Having an Undead Marksman would be a rather appropriate enemy that would use a Musket. Other Undead enemies with Blunderbusses, Repeaters and Pistols would be appropriate too. I do expect more types of staves as well when we can finally reach Ravens Cove. Undead Shamans should have these Staves, but it should be Random as to which type of Staff the Shaman has.

All out, if they are going to make the Story quest really long, and when somebody finally hits a certain point, and it suddenly resets. I would definitely think that the Story Quest would be pointless.

ruisen2000 06-28-2010 09:12 AM

I would be happy even with flaws. It's too long since we get something new that i'm desperate enough to still be happy with it. And if there is flaws i can start complaining, it would keep me from boredom for a while XD
