A small town with cobblestone sidewalks... A little fort you could walk right into.... The Ocean was bigger then too. You had to sail as much as five minutes ,with the wind at your back and no enemies catching you, just to reach Cuba... Cuba at least hasn't changed. I did everything on my own. I've never been a member, and yet I've made it all the way to level 19.

I agree. Older players were friendly, and newer players were not so... how shall I say it?... You're right. Servers weren't filled with spammers and AFK players. No. You could get a crew together for a good time within a few minutes. But I disagree about baby pirates. They're not all dependent. The fact is that they're now split in two. There are those who are dependent, but the fact is, that most have taken independence to the extreme; not even willing to join a crew, and not so much as talking to those who just want to chat.

By the way, do any of you remember being able play tag or hide-and-seek in Tortuga? Those were the days... Now where did I put my medication?... Nurse!!!

I miss those old islands myself, there was little call to change Tortuga execpt add a swamp and Port Royal should have been a new island as good as it is and not take old Royal's place.Disney made a few mistakes in my opinion but some things can be repaired.

Yes I remember way back then. I started to play POTCO End of Febuary Beginging of March of 2008 ( I forget the Exact date it was when they were giving away the Black Skull ) Anyway I Remember the ship Timmer, Old Health Bar, No Ship PvP, Old Islands and old caves, could not choose ship permisions, Old Weapons, enimes only lvl 40 bellow, and could only get to lvl 40 and lvl 25 weapons, and lots more. The game has changed alot in 2 years. Yes there it is still the same Story quest, but as long as there are enough stuff to not be completly board is good for me. But now a days PvPs are full of Jumpers and Glitchers, SvS Is full of Chaters and Cheep Light Sloops, People are not as nice ( But there are still some out there ) there are alot of cheats to lvl. Over all I think the Pirates Online Crew has done a fine job tho.

Yeah the thing with the cheaters, and glitchers in pvpand svs. Boy That's because there's alot more hackers that play the game. I can tell you that. There's alot of people that use cheat engines and so on. I've seen people I take computer classes with use them around there house in their own time.

I don't remember so much of the game content as I do my initial reactions from my first days of playing

-I remember training my cutlass on the two guards that used to stand at the entrance to the Port Royal town (across the bridge directly adjacent to the warehouse). I also trained my pistol on the gravediggers right in front of the entrance to Kings Run.
-I was extremely angered when I learned I had to do a quest and actually "work" in order to get my voodoo doll and dagger.
-I remember the islands' original looks. Port Royal used to look a lot more like the movie town than it currently does.
-I would crew up with my friend and we would sail his light frigate to Padres as fast as we could in fear of the war ships.
-A regular class ship (not light, not war) I would consider to cost a fortune.
-I made cash and trained sailing by taking the quests from the Port Royal shipwright and Bartholomew Watkins to recover supplies from Navy ships.
-I was in shock when I first saw someone with a voodoo staff.
-I remember going up to Fort Charles for the first time and running in fear of the "high level" soldiers.
