We need a higher rank ship than War Frigate, and also higher rank (than War Frigate) enemy ships.

The Game Masters replied a question of a fellow players asking the same thing your wondering, their reply is thats custumization will be added soon, which will let your ships stand out. A good guess of what type of customization would be this:

The SAIL Image
The Ships hull trim
Type of cannon (golden,skull)
Type of wheel (skull,golden)

Full customization. I would make mine as tall as A war galleon, and as thin as a light sloop, and as short in length of light galleon. good luck hitting me, and dont forget the oversized sails!

XD why not travel in time and get an aircraft carrier lol that would be nice no broadsides but planes launching bombs one broadside kill XD

They need to make the ship of the line an option to buy XD

I dont think total customization is going to happen, not because of the code aspect, I am confident the crew at Disney can cope with such an idea, but the data bandwidth needed.

If a ship can be customized from a library of componenets the library can be held on the local machine (just like alll the data for all teh models currently in the game), only a small descriptor of the objects, placement, motion for each ship in a screen needs to be moved across the network to each player who is in eyeball range. Not a lot of data per ship really.

But...

If total custoization occures then a WHOLE LOT MORE data needs to be moved around the network, artwork, skins, actual 3d models, planes, cillision parameters and who only knows what else need to be moved from server to workstation time and again (or even if cached, the cache size on you machione will grow and possibly slow down local access times due to the index of objects growing).

Only one place this is going to go, LAG, and this is with a small collection of vessels all relying on none standard library definitions.

So, while I would like to see some form of customization I would rather settle for a more conservative solution and keep the game moving than have it shudder to a halt every time a new vessel entered my field of view.

I remembered what the GM said on talk like a pirate day last year when I saw them alone on Port Royal. "The time be soon when we can fly our own flags high" is what they said. Who knows at this point.

Sounds like a cool idea to me, mateys! Probably not all ladies will like pink (me for example):) Game needs some upgrades and some new chapter to be going on there!

I am extremely wanting new vessels. And maybe to have reduced lag, the new ships we customize should be low poly. For example, a new vessel designed after the Titanic would take billions of poly to make exact, so make a low poly version to keep great speed, and maybe find a way to these ships stronger than a whole Treasure fleet without having many cannons to use. a vessel with enough hull to withstand 20 Treasure fleets would be awesome!

my ship would be a ship of the line 30 cargo 40 peeps and its body color would be white and have a killer boardside and be almost as fast as a war sloop wih killer tall sails and a spanish capitain body haging from the front and it would be unstopable and the only ship customized that way i would rule the oceans

there should be ship of the line ships to buy, also there should be ship rooms.
