It's a very natural result. Disney has created a loot system that forces kids to become jealous and angry. It is a dramatic shift from the quest-together concepts of the original game.

It's hard to blame the little kids (adults too!) who don't understand the drop system (which isn't explained anywhere) when in fact, it is Disney setting them up. There is no satisfaction even possible from the loot-drop system, only unsatisfied desire. "Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence."

The little kids (and many adults) being manipulated into becoming jealous and angry aren't at fault. Is Disney? In my opinion, yes. They have set kids up for eternally wanting more, with a minuscule minority set up to taunt and brag. (Not the braggards' fault, either...what else can they do? Hide their lost relics?)

Everything everyone has said is all so true that is what makes it so sad.

Everyone can have different strengths and motivations.

Last night was at Tormenta because it was empty. An old friend came on and I needed to sell stuff and just wanted to chat. I asked if I could tp he said yes. He was a darkhart there was a group of pirates there not all in one crew though. I stood around and only healed and talked. But one pirate keep waving his sword in face and wanted me to leave. He did not want others there.

Only go on quiet servers myself. Also play less now if it gets nasty I leave.

POTCO seems to have a lot of issues with speed hackers and rude players - it's just unbearable. Being rude to another player just because they might be stealing rep? While I'm partly on the side of rep stealing, I don't see a need to be rude to another person unless they really start to irritate me and show rude behavior.

POTCO isn't the only game with rudeness. Wizard101 seems to have lots of rudeness in it's PvP area - players faking curse words and such - and scamming.

Toontown, however, I don't see a problem.

Obviously, there's always something in a game that makes players greedy and plain rude. POTCO's mechanic is the Loot System - why people have to be rude over an accursed Loot Skull Chest that holds a Sharp Cutlass is beyond me, but to be honest, it shows the person has no manners and/or class.

Personally I stopped trying to find the stupid sword. I'm back to standard leveling. That leaves me more prone to the treasure hunters though, those people who assume we are all just treasure hunting.

I've found lately that the best way to handle rude rep stealing pirates is actually to be polite in the extreme. Earlier today I was with a guildmate at Tim, and a random guy just came and started swinging. My response was, "Um, hello?" The guy says back simply "What?" "It's a standard North American greeting where a pirate offers hello to another pirate as a sign you see them." Says I. The guy responded, "I'm glitching." And off he went.

I have to say that was pretty funny. Why get all worked up and angry if you can laugh instead? Next time someone starts bashing your Darkhart or whoever try politing them to death. Not only does it confuse the living daylights out of people, but it seems to have them either behave politer to you or to leave rather than deal with you. :D Best part? You can't get reported for returning rude behavior or insults. What are they gonna do report you for being nice? :D

Ahh, yes, the "Kill em' with kindness" approach. I love that approach.

ROFL most of the time I do that to hello etc. but my Favorite polite line is " Have a wonderful day looting and I hope you find the plunder you are seeking :) "
