I've seen only one thing converse with United Kingdom time and that was the fleets. There was a fleet at like 10am in the morning. ( 7 pacific, 6 central late for United ) and they have to make sure they can actually work while doing all of this, they get in office at like noon.

Pirate,

It's not that they don't care for you, but majority of their players happen to be in the US. Also their headquarters is in LA. :piratetongueor4:

So, did anyone find them and find out anything new at that event especially about "Captain Ezekiel Rott's Secret". So far? :/ :)

Espresso 05-09-2010 03:15 PM

I tried finding them but some people said they were going to be at the Tortuga docks, others said they were in Rat's Nest. At the second round yesterday I went into the Rat's Nest and they weren't there but another pirate said to try to find clues to what happened in the Rat's Nest in the loot.

So a bunch of us went around defeating skeletons and such and at around 6pm PST someone said something along the lines of the people of Rat's Nest were attacked from the North and took their last stand on a cliff (I'm assuming the one where General Sandspine is?) and some people ran away.

Whether that was actually a clue someone found or just bollocks, I'm not sure. I'm hoping I'll be able to catch them today.

The city was called Minertown, before Rott betrayed it to Jolly Roger.

Machazzard 05-09-2010 08:46 PM

Aye, Minertown was filled with regular residents that needed to get away from all of the pirating in the main town. They were hard workers who risked their lives to get to the town. Once there, they were successful and prosperous. Rott was a village elder who betrayed them for "power", which he never received. In cahoots with Jolly Roger, they overtook the town, and turned all of the citizens into the undead, forcing them to roam the "Rat's Nest" for eternity. The Marceline guild was too late to stop Jolly's attack, therefore, Minertown was handed over to the undead. (Courtesy of Rose Winsome-Marceline Guild)

Aye, that lines up with what I heard as well. Also worth commenting that the mystery of Captain Walter has been added on - apparently captured by Captain Rott, but his fate is ambigious. The Marceline Guild must have found some clue in Rat's Nest-nee-Minertown though since they headed to sea as soon as the fighting was done. They also hinted they'd need pirates to hunt for Walter. So, the mystery of the Muertos Guild and Captain Walter continues to evolve.

I'm lost on the story, because didn't they say before that Rott and his men were facing death at sea and Jolly offered to let them live if they served him? Or was that just rumors?

And if Rott was an elder, who are the rest of the Casa de Muertos?

KeeperOfTheCode 05-10-2010 12:17 AM

Lovely piece of history to be sure, but how does this apply to the game? I wonder, will there be a quest to restore the place? (Crosses fingers for pirate lairs)

Unlikely I know, but we can't stop hoping...

Yeah, the story doesn't really "fit" with current lore. Maybe they're hoping we'll forget it with the SHOCKING revelation that the Muertos Guild are Undead. Although how they're such healthy looking undead is still unexplained.

Then again, I missed the Raven Cove GM Event, so I'm missing a piece of the puzzle. But at least as I currently understand it - Minertown enjoyed a symbiotic relationship with the Pirates on Tortuga. The citizens did not wish to be a part of the Pirate life, so through mutual agreement, the Pirates protected the town while they went about their business. Rott wanted something more and struck a deal with Roger to take over the town. The Marceline Guild got wind of the plan and moved to save the town but it was already too late. Best they could do was cast a spell to keep the Undead locked in place in the ruins of Minertown so Tortuga Port would be protected.

What this has to do with the missing Captain Walter I have no idea. I have a guess, but it's purely speculation at this point - what if Walter used to be a member of Muertos, but switched sides and has been trying to shut Roger down ever since, especially since I think more than his hide would be on the line if he gets caught. Would explain why Rott has it in so bad for Walter.

Just guessing.

I dont understand... This fits in the current story how?? Once again, another GM event that was
1) Lag
2) Too many ignorant pirates spamming the chat box that I couldnt quite read what the GMs were saying

Crestshot 05-10-2010 05:18 AM

I'm gonna go with what some people have been saying and hope it's part of the new quest to restore the town or something. In all likelyhood it's probably just a way for them to tell us that Walter has gone "Missing" without straight out saying it on the site or something. It's part of the ongoing GM Storyline that doesn't really tie into the regular storyline.

Espresso 05-10-2010 06:31 AM

I couldn't even find the GMs. :(

Crestshot 05-10-2010 06:47 AM

They were pretty difficult to find Espresso. I had a few friends spread across different servers while I waited on Antik for them. One of them told me to TP to Bettermo instead. I don't think they hit the "A" servers at all today, and there were three of them where I was, so it's not like they just had one GM per server or something.

Really? Ok good, so it wasn't just me being a dimwit... Did they end up being at the Tortuga docks like they said they would be or were they in the Rat's Nest?
