I did take advantage of it as I do like this game but I am also checking around for other new releases of games coming up. I can always cancel.

Besides when I need to veg, I play Toontown or POTC lol

Same here... I was only going to get the silk screen map- I can't see paying over $100 per year for a game you don't even get to keep...

On top of that, I really don't think they can get it to work on any server that is too full.

Well think of it this way, once the game goes on for a while, after beta, it will be less and less likely you'll find a Founder. Think of other big online games, how often will you see a person from beta when there's thousands of players online.

I preordered today :) woot! lol

Ms_Moofers 10-23-2007 10:27 PM

I pre-ordered - not for any founder title but because I had unlimited access and it was switched to basic for two days - the free version isn't worth my time and I do like playing the game so I wanted to be sure to sign up for it (didn't want to get busy and forget)

preorder

I pre-ordered the game when I got the email, I love playing but even I recognize that there is still alot to do. I am willing to give it a shot and see what they do with it though. I don't think the founders symbol is going to everyone that pre-orders, I think that it is beta players that pre-order, maybe I am wrong but that's what it usually means.

Wendot 10-24-2007 10:29 AM

I just signed up last night, I still gotta check that my pirate has the right coin over her head.

HaveAMagicalDay 10-25-2007 12:14 AM

I'm wondering something. If we pre-order, do we keep these accounts, or will we have to start over again? Be nice if we could keep our accounts, and not have to start all over, again lol.

I pre-ordered too. That is a good question, I do not know if we get to keep the pirates we have or have to start all over again. Please tell me we don't have to start all over again! Finally got to level 20 and am working on the grenade quest. I like that you pay monthly so you can cancel anytime you get bored with it.

HaveAMagicalDay 10-26-2007 01:23 AM

Yes, that is a nice thing to pay monthly if you get bored of it, if it was yearly, I might only do it one year, because of being bored lol.

$199 one-time fee for a Lifetime Account actually, and you hafta purchase the new expansions when they come out. But no monthly fees. and... /evilgrinz, I'm lovin' that deal. And the Free brand new content that comes out so very often is great. (edit: it wasn't just for beta-testers, we were just told about the pre-order deal first.)

I dunno quite what the difference from PotC's unlimited access to non is. But yeah, I'm not intrigued to pre-buy yet. I'm pleased though to get to beta test yet another game. (One that involves my favorite pirate at that too.) I will prolly go with POTC for free and bounce around in Lotro at the same time. If the newer content gets interesting, or they put in a yearly fee like TT had, then maybe. (although I did drop my TT sub after a year of it.)

Peggo 10-29-2007 01:41 PM

The lifetime account sounds great if there only was one.
I have a question. Will our pirates be reset once th game goes public? Because there are two Beta players in my home, and if they will be reset there is no reason to get two separate accounts. But if they won't be reset...ah there's a problem.
Those who signed up...is there any answer to this question?

aint going to waste my money on the garbage this game is now

Awesome_The Pirate 10-29-2007 07:34 PM

I will be becoming a founder, i wonder what a certified cloth map is?

I subscribed to ToonTown for a year after release...mostly due to the low $5/month fee. But there isn't enough content in POTCO yet to justify a $10/month investment. There are other bigger games that are going to cost $15/month that look much more promising...even tho' they cost more.

Griffy, you sure do get around. Does Gramps know you are hiding out here. Better not let Keth or Columbus know you have your own ship...they may just might take away your new house. Or is it 'houses'??!!

Aye, the $200 Lifetime LOTRO subscription only covered online charges. When the expansions are released, Lifers still have to buy them. But you have to give Turbine credit, they have released TONS of content since release for free.

I hope POTCO follows ToonTown Online's model and introduces a lot of content after release. TTO didn't have COG Headquarters, Factories, the Race Track, etc. at release. Those were added later. All we had were Trolley Games, Neighborhoods, and Quests. The Score Board appeared after release too.

Fingers crossed that POTCO is a well-received success. I hope Disney Corp. is happy with the results of their investment.
