ROTFL. The "new system" is not new - it had been working when it was new. But it hasn't been working for weeks.

Judging by the "Admin" responses on the grog blog, they STILL don't even understand (or perhaps, believe) that it is broken.

But the grog blog team is doing a great job censoring the negative comments. It seems to me that their normal shtick is to only start posting the negative comments after a few days have passed?

IDK about anyone else, but my "negative comment" was worded politely, with the intent of being helpful to Disney. I'm not at all surprised (this time around) that it wasn't selected for immediate posting.

Posted or not, let's just hope they READ IT, eh mate?

:cat5:They can post 1924 comments on what the navy is hiding but refrain from adding the criticism about the leaderboards that do not work. Current News? Should be Current Propaganda? No, no it should be called Current Fairy Tale after all this is disney:laughks2:

I like the Admin that told one pirate "sure, work on getting on the Ships Sunk Boards" or words to that affect. It's true, they are censoring negative comments, no matter how polite or to the point the comments may be.

I called them out on that fact today, and I am sure my comments will not be posted. I hope they fix it soon, although it's cool to see my pal Angel at number one for ships sunk.

Actually, it seems that this negative comment got through...

why does this matter?
Hahaha. So...they're censoring the comments that are actually helpful, but they let this guy through? And without any GM comment following too. I'm sorry Disney, but try and get it right. Please?

I am just thrilled that now I can access the leader board without having to use DXD.

You are thrilled to see "daily" results that are nearly a month old?

Eliza Creststeel 06-11-2010 06:52 PM

Skirata,

I agree that WILL BE a great option - when they make it work. They couldn't run the LB update and XD parallel for a while until they KNEW it would be ok?

Working for a software outfit, I know that any changes can be hard to finalize - so they should have made sure the old method was still available until the new method was ready to step up.

I'm glad I saved a copy of what -this- grog blog looked like two days ago. That particular comment was present, two days ago. (That isn't exactly a negative comment, though, just confused.)

Here is the first "new" comment added to the June 11th version:

> June 09, 2010 05:27AM
> ADMIN GM Cayman Trench
> ADMIN

> Isaiah, please allow the stats to update with a 24 hour turn around. So
> if see your stats for sinking ships today is 100,000 and you then sink
> 50 ship in that particular day. Then they won't appear as 100,050 until
> the following day. If they still don't show accurately after 24 hours,
> then try changing the category.

Note that Disney has no qualms about falsifying the date and time the comment is posted. Also note, that somehow, they remain clueless that the feature they are touting DOES NOT WORK.

The comments timestamped from June 09, 2010 10:51AM through June 09, 2010 01:50PM and the comments from June 09, 2010 03:07PM through June 10, 2010 08:55PM were also added for the June 11th version of the grog blog page.

In my opinion, that behavior is fraudulent.

Captain Sureshot 06-11-2010 08:08 PM

It certainly is fraudulent EE!

I believe the time stamps for player comments on the Grog Blog are related to when the comment was submitted, as opposed to when the comment was approved/posted (though a couple of times I have noticed this isn't quite 100% true).

I believe that the ADMIN comments are "fraudulently" time stamped so that they appear immediately after the comment that the ADMIN is responding to, as the comment system isn't like a traditional forum where there is a reply button.
