New ship type: (War/meduim/light) Brig
Customize sails, hull colour, as well as upgrade ship defense, attack or speed at shipwright.

Unfortunately, this update does NOT apprear to have any new cannon models, or new ship pieces we can loot from enemies. Just fancy colours on our ships.

Well forget the guns. It's what your ship looks like that makes it your ship!
Woo! I really can't wait for this! No matter what anyone says, this is AWESOME!

Video can be viewed on the official POTC youtube site. It is rather exciting..... I couldn't see if there was a new ship class.

So far it looks like they are only showing current ships with custom colors and upgrades.

New ship is the Brig.

Light Brig: 900 gold

Brig: 7,000 gold

War Brig: 80,000 gold

I think it actually is the Queen Anne's hull. But that's not at all bad! I'd love to have a QAR. How much I use it just depends on how fast and agile it is...

Neat,although i was hoping i could use my original ships i.e. my war frigate (black rose is the name) but oh well was also hoping to place cannons. And why new ships.... oh well i will get a war brig as soon as it hits live.

You can. All you do is go to the Upgrade menu, then you press Upgrade for the ship you want to upgrade (the button will be in the place of where, say, the Repair button would be if you wanted to repair your ship). That's according to the video.

I honestly think this is worth getting unlimited access back. :D

I am AWESTRUCK with this. DISNEY FINALLY LISTENS TO US. DISNEY FINALLY RELEASES SOMETHING WE ASK FOR. FINALLY WE CAN HAVE UNIQUE SHIPS. But sadly, we still have to keep the generic list names. In spite of the lack of new names, this is update colossal in Disney standards. All I can say is... better late than never.
