great guide i do most of this but that is because i have been with the savvy, the us defenders and the dark element wasnt that great too many basics who dont want to play but in the begining of ur guild recruit everyone u never no who might become unlimited and inviting more people who talk will make ur guild more fun and thus make ur members more likely to stay in for a while

I agree completely with Davy Fireskull.

Another technique that I used when the DA was first starting out is to go to Cuba on an ideal ( non-Abassa server ) and wait for a new ( non guilded ) pirate to attempt to kill the flytraps as part of a quest. They would inevitably fail and I would come heal them ( or, after the updates, revive them ). If they said "Thank you" or something along those lines, I would consider talking to them about our guild. It didn't matter if they were basic or unlimited. If they didn't respond with gratitude, I continued to help them but after the flytrap, I moved on. I found so many quality members from just that one encounter. Often the basics would enjoy our company enough to become unlimited players. Last month we recruited a basic player and he was very impressed that I would talk to him. He said that most unlimited players would not even speak to him. I thought that was rather sad - as they are people just like the rest of us.

Davy is right - recruit quality over quantity and give them a good home. As is the case when you get a lot of people together - be prepared for personality conflicts and a little drama. Might not hurt to make a rule to keep conflicts off of guild chat and be prepared to mediate these things.

Good luck mate.

Making a guild.

I am thinking of making a guild with my first pirate. He is: Lvl 50. Name: Jack Swordsteel. I was thinking of naming it: Swordsteelers. ( Note: No . in guild name) How is the name?

Tiberius Fireskull 01-29-2011 02:13 AM

Sounds pretty good. But the naming is all up to you mate :)

Sounds good, I usually try to stay away from guild names with my name in it, but it is all up to you....

Making guild.

Ok, i have another question. When someone sends in a guild name and goes off and back online, is the guild name gone? Bc it says you can type guild name... And another name i thought of could be: Swordsteeling

Tiberius Fireskull 01-29-2011 03:24 AM

The guild name will still be sent. If you send in another before your old one gets accepted, the new one gets accepted, not the old one.

Once a guild name is submitted, it is automatically sent to Disney for approval. Logging on and off does nothing to the process. I would suggest waiting to see if it was approved first, though, before sending another request.

Name.

Would i be copying another guild if i named it: Black Jack's crew? (Crew, Krew, Krewe.) ( no ? in guild name)

They will not approve a guild name if it is identical to one that already exists. You can see a list of guilds by doing to piratesonline.com and clicking on COMMUNITY and then DIRECTORY.

You think of a guild name, type it in the search box, and see if it exists. If you are copying another guild name but changing just a letter or two in order to confuse people, I don't think that's very cool. You are clinging to the coat tails of another guild who worked very hard to earn the reputation they have ( good or bad he he ).

My advice is to think of something original, and go with that. Build your own rep and have FUN!!!!

Good luck!
