You said that there is no real reason to play this game, but the truth is, there is no real reason to play ANY mmorpg out there, except for entertainment, they are made for fun.In every game out there, you are eventually going to come to a certain point where you have beaten the game and have gotten all of the weapons.

Now to be fair, i agree that disney lacks in coming out with features that motivate player to keep on playing the game. And that i see that most people who master their pirate ususally give up on the game within 6 months of when they master, because they have nothing else to do.
And people would get frustrated and quit if they were to loose one of their most powerful weapons. And who knows, the idea of housing has been waited for for almost 2 years, so maybe next year it will come out

1) Stable
2) Not have enough room.

This would really cause unstable servers with the amount of people playing the game. And losing items for no reason? That would just infuriate people.

it could be like toontown... teleport to your home on the map... but it isnt on the streets

Guys, you start out with 50 gold, enough o get a room in a tavern. plus, once they get there first free ship, they could earn about 200 gold, or just go on a public war galleon.

or, if they know people like me, i would take them on a tip with my war galleon and get all royals.

Tiberius Fireskull 12-13-2010 12:40 AM

Not many new players would know that they could do that. Until they are level 10 or so, they for the most part will just be questing. And IF they know you. Hardly any would.

SEAKING23 12-13-2010 01:01 AM

well, at any rate, i would just ask them if they need gold, and if they say yes, i'll take them for a run on me war galleon. or, they could just board a public ship

Tiberius Fireskull 12-13-2010 01:54 AM

You could do that for every low level who needs gold? I doubt that. There are more of them than there are of you, and you can't have all of them on your ship at one time. Making you lose gold without a house wouldn't work out at all.

It could be like TT, a server for your own house.

SEAKING23 12-13-2010 05:31 AM

Not every low level who needs gold, i'm just saying if they need gold they can board a public ship or ask a high level.

I dont think the game is boring our will get boring and what you are saying can pretty much relate to almost every game out there.

Its not a bad idea if there could be a way to not crash servers and what not. I think that after you buy a house you dont have to pay rent or pay anything everytime you log out, because it is a house thats why you get one, so you dont have to pay rent. Maybe there could be like boarding rooms or a pirate bread and breakfast lol. For the poor pirates, they could have shelters but with just like a bed in a room, we dont need any people begging for gold. That will get old fast.

P.S. Also when you get a house you could rent a room to somebody.

oh and as far as the sleeping on the streets and getting your stuff stolen, bad idea, really bad idea.

Potco has enough trouble monitoring bad activity in the game. If this was only open to friends and player friends it would open up a whole new can of worms.

How would housing give a point to POTCO. To me, the point of the game is to capture back the Black Pearl, then mastering your pirate. You are introduced to the Black Pearl from the tutorial. And, what could we do in a house anyways? Cook? Clean it? It would get quite boting, as people have said. And, if others can't see your house, and you are one of the only people who goes in it, or can see it, then that still makes it not very useful.

If you don't think there's a point to POTCO then leave. Millions of other people like me think there is. What is the point of say Pokemon other than to become the best trainer and get all the good Pokemon. Again I bet no one is a level 50 with all the legendary and not able to make a new pirate. All I'm trying to say is that if you don't think there's a point to POTCO then no one is forcing you to stay.

The house Idea I think is good but my low level has about 200 gold and losing any of that whenever I log out would be terrible. Also, if I came on one day and found that my Silver Freeze was "stolen" I would punch a hole in my computer :p ( O.k. probably not ) but I still would be furious.

Good idea but some things need changing

EDIT: Also if one person loses say a rare cutlass one day and I lose my legendary or famed that day that would not be fair at all.

They did it in Toontown, so there is absolutely no reason to not have it in this. I agree with the paying rent as gold isn't really worth anything anymore after you master your pirate. I disagree with the items being stolen and the Navy/EITC burning down your house, although an idea would be for the Navy having a chance of seizing your house and all that it would mean is a higher rent. But for new pirates, all pirates would start out with a shack and it would be a total of 500 gold to pay off and 2 gold rent every so often. Then the pirate would upgrade it to large shack, house, and then eventually a Mansion. Also all pirates would get a Captains Quarters on each of their ships and it would just come with the ship.

Some had houses and many had Caves, or inconspicuous locations where they could dock their ship without getting noticed, and to hide their treasure. I think Blackbeard even had a cave where he would port.
