The red icons are for land pvp and the blue icons are for sea. i asked one of the Game masters. Keep checking piratesonline.go.com after the competition for further details. so basically u lv up in land pvp and ship pvp and ur rank icon is next to your pirates name.

These haven't been released on test yet so they must still be in teh beta phase. But from watching the video it seems as though they are ranks you go up like lvling a weapon only a badge comes with the lvl.

I think it's more like a level up system, I gain infamy when I kill a pirate, or sink there ship. When I gain a badge for the level I have, I can choose to display it in the infamy section of the treasure chest. I choose to display what and where. I can display my PvP level on my ship, and on my pirate, and I can do the same with SvS. I can also display both at the same time. You could choose any combinations of displaying what where. That is what the video suggested.

I've been having a hard time trying to figure out things to do now I'm 50, besides trying to completely master my guy.

This will finally give me a reason to start SvS'ing.... Unless it is a planned event with my guild, I'm not a huge fan of Pvp'ing.
