Jumping in PvP is virtually ruined :(

Davy Bluekidd 02-05-2011 08:31 PM

Yep :/
It really stinks. Nothing was wrong with it.
It's just the chat barrier makes it difficult to teach others it...

SEAKING23 02-05-2011 08:31 PM

How come? i think i will love this update.

Jason Bilgemart 02-05-2011 10:08 PM

Actually, there are plenty of bugs. A few I've already picked up on:
  • Some pirates are unable to access dinghies/launch ships.
  • Enemies become invincible and freeze after you send in an inital attack.
  • Shipwrights aren't working properly.
  • Slowing/Stun effects, once applied, are sometimes stuck until you log off and back on.
  • Player cards of newly logged-on pirates are slow to load, if at all.

I'll add more once I find 'em.

i got another one to add :

  • The pvp freezes when it reaches 20 sec. on the clock

I am, too. Jumping and spawn-killing have been keeping me away from PvP; thank god that these problems have been resolved. :D

Captain Del 02-06-2011 12:59 AM

Bah, no jumping?! What is this! Next yer gonna take away me shipping license, and after that, I'm going to the old pirates home! I'm not going back, I tell ya!

Jumping in PvP was killing my knees anyway - at least now I'm forcing myself to keep my head below the clouds ;)

Machazzard 02-06-2011 01:03 AM

You can still jump, but they made it so you go about that speed of charging a gun when you attack..... for ALL weapons and skills on land that i've tested. Even shooting your pistol and reloading slows you down now. You also slow down when attuning and throwing daggers.

IMO it completely throws off the flow of fighting that I was so used to. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to get used to it :D

benjamin_warmenace 02-06-2011 02:27 AM

this update is definitely a blow against jumpers. hehe, gues the slower people will be able to keep up in pvp now ^_^

Stephen O'Malley 02-06-2011 02:55 AM

I definitely like what I am hearing about PVP and jumpers. It always irked me that I could only use my keyboard in PVP (since my mouse is odd), and they were all over the place. And then when I try to compensate for that and take out my broadsword, I get "NOOB!!!"

I hope this is true, because it will keep those pesky jumpers away from PVP. Jumping and slashing at people isn't skill, it's showing that you're good at using your fingers, and I hate it when people do it.

Machazzard 02-06-2011 06:27 AM

It actually takes a lot of skill to be a good jumper. Thats why most of the people who complain about it, aren't skilled enough to do it themselves. I'm not making a personal attack, just voicing my opinion.

Chimera Doll 02-06-2011 06:28 AM

I'm not much for PVP so I haven't tried the jumping but I do know it gets really annoying...so I am glad that the jumping is now limited. Makes it more fair, IMO.

Tiberius Fireskull 02-06-2011 06:44 AM

No more jumping? Meh... I dunno what to think of it. I jump in PvP, but I'm not one of those people that you can never hit. I'll jump a bit, stand and fight for a bit. Depends on my position. Part of me is glad that it is gone, because now PvP will have people actually fight each other head on, but since it is gone, it really just comes down to how powerful your weapon is, and what skills you have ranked up.

As for the bugs, well, looks like it won't be coming to live next week unless they really do A LOT.

On a completely random note, at the time of this post Del has 2012 posts. Gasp! Its the end of the world!
