I wonder if this is going to change since it is down for repairs, I guess I have to work on my skills and stuff while they repair it

Bringing this back to the top!

Just finished all the quests (save this one of course) and was wondering if there has been any news on when it will be de-bugged?

Also, for those of you that got to complete it, may I poll you on what your sailing and weapon levels were when you took it on? Did you have a war ship? Even though I'm done with all the quests, I don't think I'm ready to take on a Lev 40 Ship! Unless I've got a full crew who all have mighty high cannon skills....

Thanks In Advance!

First, you drive the black pearl during the battle so what ships you have in game is a moot point. The Black pearl has awesome broadside cannons and a decent hull.

Second, no one knows when this will be returned, however you can bank on MAJOR issues when it does return has hundreds of people ready for it try to swarm to it at once. Almost everyone in my guild is ready to do it and that is the same story all over. The lag will be amazing I'm sure.

Thanks WizardHawk

When I drive another players ship though, my skills are still the only ones available to me....does this not count on the Pearl? (I'm talking about sail speed, ramming skill, et all.) I realized after I posted that I would not be driving my ship, LOL. But I'm concerned about my skill set I suppose.

And I agree, once is opens back up, it's gonna be swarmed....arr.

Thanks Again.

Of course your level of sailing matters on this task. Your normal sailing skills and levels apply, however it is a carefully scripted battle and some of those skills do not come into play.

You are for sure best off having several friends with powerfull cannon levels along to help you and I believe that is more of a bonus than what level your sailing is at, but your mileage may vary.

The only thing that can do damage to you is the 4 ships in the beginning. They're all Light Frigates, but they all fire at the same time. It will kick the butt out of your ship, even using maxed lightning on them. I managed to survive with a inch of health left.

After this, the bridges will fire at you, but they can't cause any damage. The bridges take a REALLY long time, so get TV on or music. After you blow all of the bridges, you will have to sail to the end where you meet the Goliath. The ship is a level 38-39 War Frigate. It will look very scary, but don't be scared- it can't do any damage! You can't hurt it with broadsides, so you can shoot with the deck cannons and ram it. ( I find it easiest if you ram, then shoot the ship while you're waiting to be able to ram again. ) You'll sink it in about 5 minutes of doing that, and you're done with retrieving the Black Pearl!

So it doesn't matter what ship you have, but I suggest having Lightning Ammo and Ramming Speed.

Well I guess we'll see what happens once they fix the boss battle.

I'm just glad I finished it before it went offline :p

Well, that's strange....can't do damage.....hmmm, that may be one thing they're trying to fix before they re-release the boss battle. Part of me hopes not, LOL, but seems a bit TOO easy if the Golliath can't hurt you.

Join what's becoming a very big club. I got to this point 2 and a half weeks ago, and I'm still waiting. Granted, it's given me time to work on my weapons (I've mastered my voodoo doll), and I've almost got enough gold for a war frigate, so I've accomplished something, but I don't feel like I'm progressing in the game, because I don't have a set goal.

Plus, I really, really want to do the boss battle, and I'm tired of waiting. A couple of days to a week would be one thing, but it's well beyond that, and they done several updates.
