The winners should be more unrecognised, rather than the lot who hang around in Abassa Tortuga all day. I'm voting for someone that I trust and look up to, someone who has done good for me in all the days I've known them. That person is a secret, and I may tell when Savvy Swashbucklers is over. :)

I have always thought this contest was a joke and still do, what a waste of time it is. Like others have said it's a popularity contest with no real value to the game as far as I'm concerned.

As a maxed pirate who has been playing for 3 1/2 years I truly am getting tired of the lack of new content ( and the recent stuff doesn't cut it in my book) this game continues to provide no real next chapter or time consuming quest or anything of true value to pirates who are and have been maxed for awhile. I know I am not alone on this type of thinking.

I also know their are many on here who are Disney apologists and say "well you can always create another pirate or play the game with lower weapons" etc... well that doesn't keep the game any fresher. I may finally give up my paid membership for awhile and see if the game progresses like it should or if it just keeps putting out "filler" content like it has been. Bash away.

/end rant

Well, personally I can care less of whoever wins.
We all know the person who bugs the most people,
demanding for people people to vote for them,
is rather.... a waste of time. All the person is pretty
much doing is wasting the person's time and their's
as well. I always thought of this to gloat about to people...
But, I'm starting to care less. heh..

If you want to break the popularity contest issue, I am asking mates to vote for the Dread Pirate - Jinsai.

In addition to being a founder who still regularly plays and an amazing pirate - earlier this year when the quake struck Japan, her player went there and volunteered to help the victims. She is a saint in my book and after all her efforts in the game as well - I know no other choice.

Aye, I vote for her every year. And I will do so untill she wins.

I mean, if we all used the "We're pirates" excuse, I'd probably be out plundering, pillaging, and torturing some innocent townsfolk. As the player, in my opinion, we shouldn't be trying to take advantage of the system. It's dishonorable, you could say.

I'm not overly fond of the pointless competition either. It's buying them time by telling us to "vote for the best pirate", but the Caribbean is so scattered with various players that it's insanely difficult to garner votes for anyone without, as you say it, gaming the system. It's a nice little paradox we have here.

I agree Crest.
In fact, wasn't that the theme of the first movie.
To quote Will Turner after somebody said Jack Sparrow is a pirate..
"And a good man!" and something about men in this world
wearing two pairs of boots. And wasn't it Bootstrap Bill who
tried to do the "unpirate" thing of stopping the mutiny of Sparrow?
The point is yes we are pirates, but that doesn't mean we can't
do things right once and a while.

I really don't see what POTCO is doing here. There are tons of great pirates out there, and besides, like others have said GM's usually win... So all POTCO is doing is handing out fake titles. I don't know what they are doing, but whatever it is they need to step up their game.

I really hope I win this time... If not there's always next week's competition "Savvy Buccaneers" or something of that sort.
