My two cents: If you're the type of gamer who plays 30 or 40+ hours per week, you'll probably never be happy with PotCO. You'll get a new story chapter this summer, and you'll finish that in less than a month, then you'll be unhappy again.

PotCO is obviously aimed at a more casual gamer. I expect that they'll add story chapters just once or twice per year. In the meantime, they'll add a few minor enhancements like customizations, additional card games, addtional guild options, etc.

I play PotCO about 10-20 hours a week and I am still unhappy. I am reluctant to level my high level weapons because I know mastered weapons give no notoriety, and I am reluctant to do the quests because I want to keep going. So, I'm a Level 31, still only 59% finished with the Black Pearl. I think I am the only staff user that isn't at least 75% done.

Quest a little, level a little, and help others, hang with mateys a lot :)

I'm usually pretty happy playing the game, and I don't get bored all too often.

Yes they are, Disney is trying to keep players locked in to their subscriptions so that they will stay until that release date comes, then gets postponed.. etc etc.
I suggest just paying $80 and buy a year of POTCO, so that when updates come, you wont be left out.
Right, but they dont take too much time. Disney has a very well experienced group of game developers, so they can do it.

Hmm, I would've thought you'd be able to keep your pirate and just be able to play as a free account.

If you cancel you account, you'll lose it all. I think he was talking about cancelling your subscription. They are two different things, but I understand what he's talking about. ^^
