This has happened to me a few times recently and it's not my network.

So far it usually happens right before I land w/ my ship full of treasure....

I am having the same issue. Do you know how to allow traffic on port 80, 443, and 667? For me is says PotCO is on Port 80.

This error comes up so much I can't even make one run with my Ship.

Depends on your firewall really. If youre using only the Windows Firewall in WinXP, go to Control Panel>Windows Firewall>Exceptions Tab>Add Program, check to see if Pirates of the Caribbean Online is in the exception list. If not, use the browse button to find the launcher (usually C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\PiratesOnline\Launcher1.exe) and add it. Do the same with the listed ports, check and add as needed. The port dialog box will ask for a type (set it to TCP), name, and a port; the name isnt so important, just give it something that helps you identify it (TCP port 667 would be good for port 667).

If youre using a different firewall, I can only suggest you read the documentation that came with it.

Configuring a router to forward/trigger the ports may or may not help, but if you're up for trying I recommend using these guides if you're not sure how.

I've had that problem rarely with Windows, but mine sometimes closes and the POTCO bug report website pops up.

If you look at my "argggghhhh I've had it" thread I seem to be having the same problem and my firewall is down

I am having the same problem, I have PC and it says it everytime I log in I dont know anything about opening ports or anything. I have my firewall off but it dont seem to do anything. I also put piratesonline.com on exception list and it does nothing. I seen about the router thing and my modem is router & Modem in one. If anyone finds out anything let me know

There's a very helpful site that tells you how to do this for your router. It even has pictures to show you how it's done. Just go to portforward.com and look up your router by model# under port triggering. Do what it says, setting up an entry for each of these ports: 80, 443, and 667. When it asks you for TCP or UDP, use TCP.

If you are unable to find your router on the site, go to your router's manufacturer site and search the support section under your model# for information on port triggering. There's almost always something that shows you how.

Doing this will help with any firewall issues with your router that may cause it to disconnect the game, which may help some of you. It is a common cause for disconnect problems with wireless gaming. Some routers also need to have the MTU adjusted if the triggering alone doesn't work or turns out not to be the issue.

If you need help, ask for it in the Technical Support forum. Sometimes it's not the game or your computer, it's your router - and you won't know until you give it a try :)
It can make your game time a whole lot better!
