I look at it this way -

People who play video games 24/7 think of it as a way of life.

People who 'cube' 24/7 think of video games as a hobby.

People who play video games 24/7 think of 'cubing' as a hobby.

Cubing, to me, is a way of life. ;)

My new PB is 6.xx seconds. (xx meaning idk to the digit, I forgot)

Well... If you want to get good, don't start with an easy one. I started with pogobat's tutorial on youtube. His method, honestly, sucks. I've got a lot of his methods for different sections of the cube etched into my brain, so sometimes I'll switch to that during a speedsolve. If you want to learn a lot about it, just search on youtube. I will send you some links to good tutorials and a link to a forum about rubik's cubes.
