yes because there is nothing that says "PIRATE" more
than spending the whole fight running away.

only yellow bellies use voodoo in pvp
and besides I figured out how to beat them.

ok, well i just maxed out my dol to level 25.... i have 1 point left to spend, what should i spend it on? I have:

4 attune

1 focus ( dont plan on raising )
1 spirit ( same as focus )

2 poke
3 swarm
4 heal
1 curse
1 scorch
2 cure ( accidentally put 1 on there :[ )
1 grave shackles
5 life drain

either poke or swarm? concidering poke reloads faster, would the damage be better for poke with 3 points at its fast reloading speed?

or would swarm at 4 points be better? reloads slower than poke does.

I havn't maxed out yet but this is what I'm aiming for:

3 attune

5 poke
5 swarm
2 heal (oops, wish I could only have 1 there, but oh well)
1 curse
1 scorch
1 cure
1 grave shackles
5 life drain

0 focus
0 spirit

That leaves me with 1 pioint I havn't decided on where to put yet.

I think it works only on voodoo dolls , not staffs.

Only 14 doll, but here is my plan...

3 Attune
5 Poke
5 Swarm
1 Curse
/ Scorch
1 Cure
/ Grave Shackles(Is it a good skill?)
5 Life Drain

/ Focus(40 voodoo is useless with the staff passive skills I have read about)
/ Spirit Ward(Do you really want to resist a heal from another pirate that has attuned you?)

Also, where to level up and what skills to use to get more rep for my doll?

Somehow, the game placed 2 of my free skill points that I was saving into Swarm, which made me so very angry, especially after getting name approval for my new character.

I might start over again, but I had originally planned out this alignment, so I'll just be a little behind when upgrading newly unlocked skills.

Attune - 5 (whether it splits the damage or not, being able to attune an entire ship of enemies when boarding a ship is important to me)

Poke - 5 (I think this gets powerful if you invest in it, plus, it's cheap on the voodoo and it reloads quick)
Swarm - 5 (only thing making me think it's worthwhile is the slight slowdown on the enemies, plus it's a second attack)
Curse - 5 (bumping rep is really important, plus, it weakens the enemies)
Heal - 1 (healing friends for not too much voodoo is something you should do, unless you're a loner)
Scorch - 0 the first skill that takes too long to reload and is too expensive on the voodoo reservoir)
Cure - 0 (sorry friends...too expensive on the voodoo level)
Grave Shackles - 0 (my guy can run and keep up if he has too and if the other skills are good enough, he won't have to run away)
Life Drain - 5 (isn't this the only thing you have to heal with early on? save up the five points once this unlocks and you're a tank)

Focus - 0 (more voodoo is more voodoo, but this doesn't seem to be too worth the rare skill points)
Spirit Ward - 0 (sounds useless to me)

If I was to get 4 free points, I'd put it into heal, but give me one more than that and I'd go ahead and upgrade the Focus skill all the way.

I think they should have unlocked them all once you get to the level, but make the upgrades cost points. I still can't figure out why we can't have a quest to go on which would allow us to redistribute our skill points (I mean, it's such a heavy burden to have to get it right the first time after investing so much time and effort into each character).
