Honestly, if someone takes two seconds out of their busy days to say "I ban you with strong words", then that is participating to me.

It's difficult enough for people to take the time out of their real lives to have a little fun on this forum, much less write a two page story about how one is to participate.

Love all the people even if they can only take the time to read, ban, or put bottles up! :)

Like I said, I appreciate pirates who participate in the Ban Game and other activities just as the next pirate - I view all pirates as equals. I'm also not saying that pirates who don't have the time to participate in other topics of discussion should reorganize their time when they enjoy doing solely that - if you read my second post, I stated that this thread is only in respect to the pirates who aren't taking the initiative to participate in the forums in it's full splendor, when they have the full capability of doing so.

Remember, I'm not one to dictate how you are to spend your time on these forums, that's not my place. But, I'm always open to encouraging pirates to get involved and try new things :piratewheelgo2:

I support this thread - POF doesn't have as many members on it as other fansites/forums, but we can easily be one of the most active. I used to be very, very active - posting on nearly every thread - when I joined in May 2011, until round about September when activity here dropped (which may be a result of back-to-school time, but still).

I was also very active because of the Activities forum. I'm sure some of you recall my username spamming the New Posts section of the front page. I was missing the point of the whole site itself. The closure of the Activities forum prompted me to turn over a new leaf and actually post about POTCO. When the forum was re-opened, I stuck to this and only posted there occasionally. I also stopped playing the Ban Game so often (only one ban since the re-opening), because it's just not interesting to me anymore. There's not much more I can say on this subject without sounding like a hypocrite...

Activity on the forum has dropped, but we can easily build it back up again. Looking through archived threads, I was finding lots of different users per thread. Plus, when I started looking at the forums without an account (November 2010), it was very active indeed. Let's get back to this.

How about trying to organize an open loot night for this weekend or next? We can write about this until we are blue in the faces. I'll stick with the abridged version. Less talk and more action. To the cannons!

:D

Amen! I'm sure you'd be more than happy to drive with that fantabulous upgraded ship! :sailr: I volunteer Hammy to bring the rum.

Already ahead of you!

Jorden has already planned a Crew Nights for the forums every Tuesday and Thursday night, and I have planned a Forums fleet and blockade for this Sunday.

But this is exactly what I'm talking about! If you think you would like doing something, don't tell somebody else to do, plan it yourself! Make a thread, invite your fellow forum members, and spread the word! We can't just rely on a few pirates to plan events for us, we all need to get involved!

I'd love to take Requests if anyone wants though. Just if ye be shy.

Also maybe we can try to get the admin to hold a contest of who can invite the most people from POTCO. It be a bit interesting. Prizes would be given out at the end of the month to see which user has invited more daily active people, but that person has to Make it to where it meets certain requirements so it wouldn't be where once they help the person, they immediately leave. Don't give me any reputation because this is what came in my mind when I read Dark Pixies post.

POF actually has the most. :p

But I guess it's not that easy to notice because as everyone has said, there's been a great drop in activity. But hopefully that can change!

I actually noticed this myself and had in mind about saying something about but Job Well Done Del...

This is a great wake up call and I personally still visit all the forums when i have time. The thing that has to be realized is that this forum is based on POTCO. Like all game forums, they will only be as active as the game. Right now(and already explained on the main post) POTCO isn't doing so great in attracting players or progressing as a game(to maintain current players). In simplest terms, POTCO is not as good as it should be. In the time that I have been here, I have posted some 350+ posts and all are about POTCO.(I don't play forum games). Another Factor is that there are now 4 POTCO forums(at least 4) so that also has build some competition between all of them even though POF is the oldest and the biggest forum...
