I'm about 500 points from lv31, with my voodoo doll mastered, and I only attack the Seabeards with a Guild Mate or a Friend. Let the n00b's die. When I was a lv4, I stayed away from lv12's. It's common sense for most, and those without common sense will wind up in jail and groggy. LOL!

g. aye like the popcorn thing , after all we are just humble pirates arggg!

I generally kill the seabeard. This is because when he runs it by, and back out or dies, it is going to come back and likely attack out of character, or glitched.

Something similar happened to me last night. I was leveling grenades on Cangrejos (good rep off the French Lietenants, btw) and some poor level 20-something had agged a Captaine and was running for her life. I was looking for my next target and she was running towards me. After switching to doll and seeing she was hurting I tried to get to her to heal but she just kept running and just as I got her attuned he unloaded one last sidewinder and finished her off. Killed him and went back to what I was doing.

Earlier another low to mid 20 asked for help killing them for a quest and I was happy to. He knew he needed help and asked for it and I was only grinding the nades. He was helpful and very appreciative. And I told him to just pay it forward. He almost became a puppy but I had to go offline for a while and when I returned, he had moved on.

But if they're running.. it's too late except to clean up the mess they'll leave behind. And I have warned several low level players when they are in an area the can't handle. I am generally ignored.

Yeah It all depends on his attitude if he is all I could on you choose F but if he is nice help him the best you can without interfering your training.

Okay, if they're there and they're trying to be useful (healing), or got dragged there by someone, and are trying to stay out of the way of death (everyone should stay out of my way....), I'll heal them, nuke the enemy, and then suggest that this isn't the most healthy place for them.

If they insist on puppy-dogging me, or worse rep-leech-by-assist, try to subtly back off while they're still fighting or switch to uber-low damage attacks. Then, the enemy eventually shifts focus and solves my problem for me.

The worst fool I ever saw came back twice after having me do that.

The only ones I try to help unconditionally are my own guildies, though even some of them can be annoying at times (attracting something too big, having me finish it, then saying something dumb like "We're a good team...")

I keep saying "What mean "we" Kimosabe?"

Swordblade 06-19-2008 02:46 AM

I would either choose C if I'm just there because I'm bored but if I'm Leveling my Sword/Staff then it would be B.

emmalemmalemma 06-19-2008 02:54 AM

What I would do wasn't a choice, I'd continue to heal them until they finished off the seabeard and if I don't think they can do it on their own I would help take him out.. I've mastered in voodoo though so I wouldn't be getting anything out of it, so I may just go at them with an unmastered weapon and hope to distract them enough to take the seabeard away for me.. They do change targets.. Maybe that would give them enough time to get away.. But I was over in Tormenta when I was twenty something with my twenty something friends and we did just fine. Occasionally going to jail but not so much that it wasn't worth the time..

sammyh 07-05-2008 04:38 PM

really i would choose b. even though i am mid lvl. (lvl 15) but i can still take on a lower lvl tormenta enemy(not the bats, those are easy.), with a little help from one of my friends. i dont think i should be punished by defeating a high lvl enemy by accidently getting the attention of a seabeard someone else is fighting.

arrg.

Im just glad that Im not the only person who spells TormenTA 'Tormentia' and I bet many of you pronounce it the same as I do 'Tormencha' until I was corrected... now its TormenTAH.

;)

Oh, and I'd heal em, help kill it, and then recommend he move to a safer place! :)

Jeena 07-05-2008 07:06 PM

C) Just Heal Him, you did your good deed

=] I'd heal throughout the battle.
You get rep, though not deducting it from the other player & you also saved someone a trip to the locker. =]

I would choose A. Have done so many times, and have made many friends that way.

I have to say, those are my most loyal friends, too. Now when I go to Tormenta, I usually have many of them with me, and now that they are bigger, they don't need as much help.

But I never get even a little yellow before at least 4 dolls attune and heal me.

Sometimes it pays to adopt a newbie. ;)
