I dont think anyone questions the implications of the term "retard" and how it can definately be hurtful.
However "Rep Stealer" is not at all the same, it is a reference to a game player that is playing the game with bad etiquette. This is definately NOT a banning offense. To backup or support a child in thier decision to act/behave poorly (by banning those pointing it out), and show bad etiquette is in itself tragic, and a disservice to society.

I think Bilge may have quoted the wrong post. The one above it was the one with the offending issue.

Another thing that will get you suspended is giving out a user Handle, even if it is a very creative way. I know, cause instead of on the back beach of padres, I get to take a 3 day vacation!!!

i know in the rules it also says "dont cheat" by using 3rd party programs...but you know how some people do glitches for their own advantage, like the skeleton for unlimited amo...is that considered cheating?

That's a good point. Exploting glitches I think would be considered cheating, maybe not if you actually report the glitch and just continue to exploit it until they fix it lol. However I have never reported glitches I found useful so I doubt anyone else would.

yea, i know other games dont like people abusing bugs and glitches, but everyone on pirates do glitches of like unlimited life and stuff. i dont do any because i always think i could get banned and stuff, i just play fair.

A glitch isn't a 3rd party cheat, its exploitation for sure, but its not like downloading a program to give you unlimited health.

Agreed - the D Devs already know that the POTCO 'World' has holes all over the place and the time to repair these vs. working on other issues is Low Priority at the moment (fix crashing issue or plug a pixel somewhere...)

Well this was a bug from PvP - and turned out to benifit Players more than Devs would like so it got Higher Priority to fix (simply because its use was spreading quickly - and already the POTCO World has enough 'small glitches' where this one was a doozy...

Its like when the power goes out across 50,000 customer - you fix the problem first which gets you the most customer back up and running the quickest - then the next problem which get the next biggest number - until they are left fixing a small number of 'pockets' to wrap up... unfortunately if your the small pocket - you get moved down to the bottom of the list :)

if you are banned can you evere get back on?

Angel 05-28-2008 08:55 PM

I agree fully MaxximVs. And Jane, once you suspended you have 3 days off. Sometimes it takes a phone call to get back on. I cant answer you on the banned, but I do think you will lose your account if you get banned perminantly.

Dad always said to me, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"

I always speak to other players as I would wish them speak to me.

It's a good rule, and makes the game more enjoyable.

(Thanks to all for the info on this thread, because I was concerned with what is considered a 'no-no' among the POTC crew)

ok u cant give URLs in game that will get u banned no talk in appropriate stuff with the exception of rum (and if they banned u for saying rum well they need to ban themselves they have an entire island made after rum @_@)

for the official rules and guidelines click here or here

i still would like someone to answer my question about:

say you get reported for something or reported someone for no reason. how long does it take from when you did that, for u to get banned.....

example: i did something bad today and got reported for it...will my pirate be banned tomorow? or when?

depends though my study of potco bans it seems that disney has programs which weed out certain words (lets say .com) and it will file an automated report but the computer CAN NOT ban u the report goes to a mod which will make a decision to ban or not to ban u this can take anywhere from an hour to a day depending how many staff are on duty and how many reports are being filed

(plz note player reports are the same they will be put on a waiting list until a mod can get to them)

David 05-29-2008 11:33 AM

ok, so the best bet would be from an hour to 3 days? that sounds like my old game, i just wanted to make sure. Thanks chris!
