I would take a cat. I don't know why, but I would like a cute little cat following me around. :)

I'd like a rabbit for fun, but they seem pretty useless.

As far as a useful pet, I would go with a falcon (hawk/eagle). Due to the fact that they can get fish out at sea if the crew runs out of food....and they can scratch/peck out the eyes of the enemy cannoneers....and they can find land if ye' be lost at sea.

The Kraken worked for Davy Jones, that why it didnt attack him! But if anyone else tried to own a Kraken it would kill them. Why do you think Lord Beckett ordered for it to be killed?

But Davy Jones ruled the sea. After Calypso was bound, Davy Jones became the ruler of the sea. That's how he was able to control the Kraken. Because Davy Jones was cursed. You would have to be the ruler of the sea, captain of the Flying Dutchman, and you would have to be cursed to control it, no? Or else otherwise be granted that power from the Goddess of the Seas, Calypso herself. Highly unlikely. Perhaps you could have a gaint squid, but the Kraken itself , I doubt it.
