For instance, I might get 30 minutes on the old "computation machine" or perhaps an hour on the company laptop in between testing because my lovely wife, who was just granted  the Wal Mart award for the "Teacher of the Year" in our school district btw, at first I thought it was for the state but she corrected me as n e teacher of the year would ... is hoarding the Dreadwash family pc, I might get in a few moments a day after football practice - I am an assistant coach.

Therefore I think I deserve to glitch when I sail for instance if I want to get my cannon level up a little. However any glitch that hurts a fellow player or harms code in any way is unacceptable to me. The glitch where you take over another players ship for instance or attack another pirate is way off limits and out of bounds.

Dog Dreadwash lvl 40

I do play while at work myself sometimes, and often get interrupted by phone calls (hey thats my job), I found that doing the KH glitch let me play some without worrying about dieing everytime I got a phone call. :)

Congrats to the wife, and have fun coach! hehe

i have used some glitches that helped me lvl up the stupid grenades. (Catacombs Glitch) I've used the KH glitch once, but after a while it is no fun. The only thing about most glitches is that it takes the strategy out of how to kill an enemy or sink a ship. That is the fun of the game, being able to out-think the opponent. Trying to kill enemies alot higher than you without dying. But I'm with most of the ppl here, if you are using a glitch to create an advantage against another ppl, then it is JUST WRONG to be using a glitch.

Whatever you decide, just make sure that it is fun for you and you are not using it to take advantage of someone else.

I think this is one of those types that can only be "shown".

I did actually manage to get behind the rocks/walls in Padres, but I couldn't hit anything. It was all too far away. And if I tried to get closer I'd unglitch.

It's the one near the officer and the raider I'm interested in, I'll freely admit. Where you're right behind the wall. I know the raider can still attack you but it's usually the officer who kills me.

I've only used a glitch to get rep once the Kingshead invinciblilty/Invisibility glitch but then I found Tormenta....

JamiSings 10-02-2008 09:08 PM

There used to be one on Cutthroat where if you went behind some plants near a stump you'd be underneath the stump. As long as you didn't move forward you could fire at the stump with your pistol and not get attacked. But it seems that one is fixed.

They posted an article about bugs, and not to use them for bad, if you see a bug, report it!

Leon Mcflint 10-02-2008 11:11 PM

What if it's a bug like the one that you can pvp on Tortuga?

All the glitches I've ever used is the Invincible Sailing glitch, the one where you can walk out of the ship, and mostly wall glitches. Those glitches, to me, can't be harmful to other players unless you're using the Assassin Glitch in SvS. To me, glitches can be good and bad at the same time. They can be used as something just to play with, something to amuse, or they can be used to cheat against others and to gain an unfair advantage.

In my opinion, some of the harmless glitches are the:
  • Invincible Sailing Glitch
  • Flying Through Island Glitch
  • Jumping ship (not in SvS)
  • KH Glitch
  • And all the other 1,439 of them. ;)

On the other hand, the glitches that can cause harm to others are the:
  • Flying Assassin Glitch
  • Repairing while sailing
  • Wall glitches in PvP
  • And the infinite ammo and 3x Lightning/Explosives glitch. (I say these 2 because it just gives people an unfair battle advantage in SvS, but it's ok while fighting NPC ships) :)

Basically, all glitches that people use and take advantage of to lvl faster than normal, or to seem like they're just awesome in SvS when they're really not are the glitches that I have always hated and the ones that I want to see fixed ASAP.

I just listed these to give everyone an idea of the glitches I believe are cheats and which ones aren't.

Bella 10-03-2008 06:17 PM

I personally use the KH, Catacombs, and Torments glitch to lv weapons. Usually at night when I'm trying to make myself fall asleep. Believe me pushing the SAME kay over and over makes me fall asleep faster than any sleeping pill on the market.

However, I feel using the invincible ship, unlimited ammo, and auto repair glitch in SvS is DISPICIABLE!!!! For that verry reason I quit doing SvS and will not return to it until it is fixed!!!!

Also the same situation in PvP.

To sum it up if ye use a glitch that has no effect on other players, go right ahead!!! However, if you use a glitch aginst another player you are lower than pond scum!!

As for learning stratagy on which weapon/ammo and stratagy to use aginst an enemy...Already done that about 4 pirates ago LOL

Ok, maybe I'm gonna toot my own horn here for a sec - but I consider myself a pretty good shot. One reason I believe I've become a good shot is because - I had to be :D You don't be sailing in waters where three L37 NPC Ships suddenly appear and survive...

Today I see a lot of grapple glitchers... but they cant sail and shoot worth didly. Their sailing right up to ships without care (not learning 'fish tailing' or 'the front swipe') and can be a poor shot and feel good about it...

Don't get me wrong - for those who are good shots and have done their time... sure - its entertaining... but I still do it the old fashon way (gotta keep my skills sharp... ;) )

As a note: since it appear this will soon be fixed according to the latest test notes - its a non-issue now... I just wonder when its gone and you all of a sudden see these poor shooters and sailors heading to Davy Jones - they got to do some serious training :)

We play Pirates Online, and like you, from time to time we see things that need improvement. For instance, take our recent Privateering feature that was added to the game a month or so back.

PvP ship battles are exciting, however, we've seen some Pirates doing things in Privateering that makes it not as fun as it should be - like repairing ships while in battle. (In Privateering, ship repairs can only be done at port or while the captain is away from the helm. The players that are repairing while still sailing are taking advantage of a bug in the game.) For full Privateering details, click here.

We do our best to make sure bugs are squashed before new features are introduced into the game, but when they do sneak in, we work even harder to fix them. That said, you'll see fixes for this and many other bugs you've told us about in our next release - we just want to let you know we hear you and are working on them.

Your feedback is important and can help make Pirates Online better for everyone, if you've seen a bug, report it!

well, I. like many others, am on both sides. yeah, some are good, and often funny, and good to impress others, ( like getting behind the bar at taverns ), but some, like unfair playing in pvp/svs is worse than lord Becketts ego! ( lol, it HUGE.) I must admit, though, I have tried the invincible/invisible glitch while battling NPC'S. but i noticed that, EVERY plunder was ALL cargo crates! that PROVES that cheaters never prosper.
but, because people see svs glitching is FUNNY, and all, I haven't gone out there, and I wont until I can BEAT them when they're cheating. that will not only show 'em,
but it would mean I could beat the glitchs, witch, in my opinion, is the best skill you could ever learn. As for standing behind the gate in kingshead and using the grenades, I say " why not?" it doesn't affect anyone, and its one of yer only chances of lvling up without constantly getting killed.

until than,

I like the ones that let you get to places like the kingshead secret dock bit, If people are just mucking around and having fun then that's what it's all about. But you have to think when people use them to level up, that someone who maxes havin not used any glitches and just hard work, deserves it a little more.

Oh how I would like to agree with you on that. Trouble is, Disney doesn't feel that way, so people out there taking out the cheats and healing on move boats got the nice slap in the face, and skills extremely reduced. Cheats though, left in the game.
