To answer your first question, I heard from a reliable source that it would be released May 14th, but another one said the 16th. Chances are one of those is right, which would be good because that's real soon.

And also, we know from Disney itself that the game will be released in Spring 2007. May is the last month of Spring, so that helps confirm the above release date.

To your second question, my guess is it's the full one. If it wasn't, they wouldn't have testers for the pay only features, and that would be a bad idea.

I'd bet the farm on the fact that the game won't be out on the 14th or 16th of May. There is a still a LOT of work to do on this game. My best guess of when it will be out is the 31st of May. :D

It was reported that the game would be released along with the movie. The movie is slated to be released on the 24th of May in the US. http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/pirates/

the movie is the 25th yes but the game i'm hearing anywhere from the 14th to the 22nd or later so......

Warioguy 05-14-2007 04:12 PM

Well, as we can see it's not out yet, and it is the 14th. Now that I think about it, I did think it was a little odd that they would release the game before the third movie was out. XD Probably will be the 25th or so after all.

Hopefully I'll get my beta key before that, though. ^.^

Is the game out yet? No? Ok, I'll wait some more. :D

snowegoof 05-16-2007 12:40 AM

so.. what day?

Warioguy 05-16-2007 01:33 PM

No specific release date yet, but my suspicion is that it will be released sometime from the 25th to the 31st.

That's just my guess though. It would seem like that would be the perfect time to release it, though at the same time, the game has a lot of work left. Not sure if it can be pulled off before then. Guess we'll just have to trust the POTCO Crew and hope it gets finished by then.

The game is not looking too good... If you think about how they have been selling it for the last 2 years, and last year is when I signed up for Beta (only was able to get on last week of the 4 or so testing started)...

It's running 24hrs (sort of), like Toon Town, and they update a lot, but some of the basic stuff dosen't seem to be getting fixed- like tasks you need to advance in the game.

That might be to slow us down, and fixing it would mess with all the accounts, but what they have (on the servers we use) could be finished in 2 weeks of game play.

More than 1/2 the shops are empty, I've been to islands that have buildings, but not a single person. And some of the game crashes are so intense, it makes me think I'm going to fry my mother board any second (try logging off as your ship is going down)...

Let's just hope the real game is on another server... even with that, to make game play last a full year, I get the feeling they will drag out tasks, and make it seem more like a job, than a game- Just like Toon Town (I quit after they fixed all the glitches)...

Or, POTC could end up a "Chat Game" like VMK, with out the ultra cool "drag & drop" grhphics...

POTC is a little more fun than Toon Town (Toon Town may offer more game type attacks). You get a gun, a sward, and a connon... Oh and a vodo doll to make the sward, and gun work better... Sorry, I just don't see paying, like $80.00 a year, for a game you don't even get to keep, when you could out right own 3, or 4 really cool games that work all the time .

well, movie opened yesterday and we are still "near release" - forget who said May was last month of Spring but they are totally off - June 20 or 21 is first official day of summer so we may be looking at close to a month before it does open - and frankly, as a beta tester, I'll be surprised if it does happen due to the numerous bug issues -- but I'll keep my fingers crossed because it's so cool! (except for the bugs)

Cownip 05-26-2007 10:09 PM

I'm asuming you did not read any of my first post and only the title Ms Moofers. You will find proof from the New York Times itself that it's coming in May. Plus, I too find it annoying how so many people are confused with the end of Summer. Then again, several years a go when I was eight(the age of a decent amount on these forums), I too did think the Summer started on June 1st.

Ms_Moofers 05-27-2007 01:44 AM

nothing personal but I don't believe most of what I read in any newspaper - and yes, I did read your post - all of the posts on this topic

Sr.Penguin 05-27-2007 03:40 AM

The newspaper won't be telling the truth, look what I just found skimming through Pirates Online reviews:
----
FiringSquad: What is the current status of the game's progress and when will it be released?

Mike Goslin: We’re currently in beta and have been for several months now and expect to launch this summer

-------

Summer eh........Really not smart for him to say that there, when on the site it says Spring......
