I don't think we can get more than 100 rep that must be an old beta picture or something like that.
Seriously how'd you get 300 rep?
You can barely get 200 with a big crew.

A full crew could definately do 300 (with a 50% bonus) 100 cannon + 50% bonus + 100 sailing + 50% bonus = 300

Throwing grenades could up that even more being a 3rd weapon and its attacks to utilize.

The picture reflects a person getting 100 pts for cannon, 100pts for sailing, and 100pts for grenades. Quite doable.

ALso I think you get credit for what crewmates do right?

Well, as a sailor you get a small amount of sailing rep for the damage done by your crew, but only up to the 100 pt maximum for that skill.

Ok I see.
The most rep i've ever gotten with a crew was 150 so I was thinknig this had to be an edit.
Wow I think I need to get a crew and try that.

Please add a "recommendations" section for the cannon level up tactic: buy a war frigate or regular frigate, launch from Padres del Fuego, but DON'T LEAVE PORT. Go take one of the four front guns and LEARN HOW TO AIM WITH THE MOUSE! People with high sailing levels and low cannon levels get 100 (plus crew bonus) rep for every single kill there. The enemy ships approach, but don't attack much, until someone takes the helm and leaves port.

More should be said somewhere, to remind people to aim cannons only with their mouse. I hate using the computer mouse, but there is no substitute for its targeting accuracy.

I really despise folks that do this.. sorry.
Seems like they are always bringing those ships your talking about upon my ship when im launching, and causing me immediate damage. They also gripe at you the time if you sink the ship they were being lazy with. Unfortunately most are not doing it for the reasons you state either, most are doing it to quickly fill thier holds and port without having to sail at all.

I play the entire game with mouse, other than using Fkeys to select weapons (half the time), number keys for skills, and T for tonic. People often ask me how my pirate says AFK yet im still battling. Its because I havent had to touch the keyboard for hours.

How do you make your pirate run, using only the mouse?

My mouse has a few extra buttons other than normal.

2 are set special. 1 is R for run, another is SHIFT to open doors, etc.
Although my mouse emulates these keys, the game doesnt recognize my use of them as being on the keyboard apparently.

What is best to go after

Have you ever wondered which ships offer the most exp?

Well that depends on your sailing level.

The best shp i think you can have is a war galleon[/COLOR]. you may not get enough exp from sinking ships with it but you can sink ships faster. I want some people to give me answers on what the best ship people should have and the best kind of tarets for that ship. For the war galleon i say any navy skeleton or eitc ship lvl 30 + is best for the war galleon

:rip: to all others.

for the war frigate any lvl 30 + ship from man o war to juggernaught to death omen this ship can sink them all

please! dont hesitate to reply!!!!:Hcool::Hrolleyes::candycorn::pump kinani:

Well, which ship is best has been debated before in a few threads.

Since whats best is really going to vary from sailor to sailor it always ends up being a matter of whats most popular.

If anything it has been pretty much determined the most 'popular' ship is the War Frigate.

Personally I prefer the War Galleon as any 'perks' the War Frigate has over War Galleon I personally do not need for successful plundering. I find the larger hold allows me to stay out longer and get more plunder for my troubles. I generally have no problems filling the ship up and staying in the 'green' hull wise (usually 2-10 gold damage a trip). Additional hull strength, or broadside strength of War Frigate, I do not require.

As for gaining for reps, there is a Sailing reputation guide: http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ead.php?t=7141

It may help in deciding what targets are best, as it also depends on your own notoriety and sailing levels im pretty sure.

In the long run the higher the numbers, the better the reps (up to 100).
If your getting 100+ reps on a ship, its a high enough level :)

As for plunder, I find all the higher level 25+ War Galleons, War Frigates, and War Sloops all do somewhat the same, varying in amounts, and type. Alot of which I think is random, with a touch of "treasure sense" thrown into the equation. (Until reassignment of skill points comes about, i still think Treasure sense a waste of skill points, unless you anticipate using it to reassign your sailing as soon as it becomes available. As you progress, gold gets easier and easier to obtain.

Couldn't agree more! :):pumpkinani:

POTCO fan 10-11-2008 10:58 PM

war frigate is nice and all but....
1.broadsides command(usually/
2.more cargo=more$
3.more armor so that your ship doesnt catch fire:laugh:(this has caused me to sink before)
4.you can do man over board glitch:pumpkinani:
5.war frigates lose their crew bonus....
6.more sail life
war galleons are great but...
1.war frigates are faster
2.war frigates got more cannons
3.war frigates got more life
4.war frigates can carry more people
5.ramming speed is inhanced by drill

so it depends on who you are....
but i like war galleon best :devil8:
