heh good luck bc virus programs are a PAIN O_o im just saying install one before un-installing the other i guess just so nothing gets through :D but i really hate virus programs.

And your welcome

I am having the same problem...

As is mentioned above, this has happened to me in the past as well. However, I would highly discourage any "downgrading" of your AVG just for this game. It will resolve itself through another update just as before.

Until then, I know it sucks but just hang in there. Maybe...go outside or something.

YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR COMPUTER LINKED UP WITH THAT VIRUS, ITS A HACK VIRUS, YOU OPEN IT UP ALL UR INFORMATION IS STOLEN.

This is unfortunately an uneducated response.

Its a false positive detection by AVG, it is not in 'this' case a dangerous virus like HorusForce is stating.

Pirates Online does NOT have a Trojan Horse virus in it.

Chris 08-20-2008 10:50 PM

I agree thats an overstatement it was FALSELY found as a trojan horse nothing more.

_kaytay_ 08-20-2008 10:56 PM

yes cause i updated my avg and my game works again

Davil 08-20-2008 11:19 PM

Most online services don't like Pirates online i think. never seems to anyways.

Hours, everyone - please read the Release Notes on POTCO Online before assuming such bad things...

Known Issues - August 14, 2008

- A recent AVG Internet Security update falsely detects Pirates Online's "Launcher1.exe" as a Trojan Horse.

- Workaround/Fix: Download the latest definition file from AVG released Sunday, April 27 or later
Trend Micro Anti-Virus has falsely detected Pirates Online's Launcher1.exe as a Trojan Horse

Cat The Pirate Queen 08-22-2008 07:57 AM

hey im fixed

LOL I sound like I'm a cat , got fixed lol, OK hey guys, yup I got rid of avg , and put Norton on this computer too, and problem solved .I had avg for about two months and it worked fine until the upgrade the other day. Once it upgraded that day I had problems, maybe if I would have waited , gone outside maybe , LOL, it would have been resolved the next update, but the Norton seemed to do the trick . Thanks again for all your help guys. I am a happy Pirate Cat again.:dancetl6:
