Thank you for clarifying. It is not normal for poison to take you to zero...I've yet to see that anywhere. And you're sure there was no cave bat or any other red dot near you on compass? Lava gorge lately has had an undead underneath the landing area (when you come in from catacombs, there is e.g. a lvl 9 witchdoctor underneath you.) I'd sooner believe it was a monster at the wrong height (like the flying sergeant) than poison suddenly working differently. Daggers from raiders took me to 1 HP several times today, but I've never (ever) made it to zero.

That means SOMETHING is hitting you - maybe the poison - more likely something else.

ive looked around 2 out of the 3 times it happened and didnt see anything attacking me but like you said its indeed possible with how the game allows NPCs to magically raise up and magically hide under ground

however I never saw any of the pain animations playing - i was moving around like normal just my health kept moving down slowly -- so if i was actually being attacked it Never once showed my body being hit

Ive never seen any pain animations while running in that situation. Just a green cloud.
And I have 'heard' the strike that kills me take place.

perhaps ill try to duplicate it a few times later tonight see what happens

Guys i went on the other side of the cave and nothing was by me. It took my health down to like 90 hp so i drank a tonic. Then it took that all the way down to zero then i just fell and died. There was no one attacking me.:)

thats exactly what had happened to me

i didnt take a tonic though I just watched it eat my Health down to 0 and i died
