I'm not getting bug report acknowledgements either - and can't get to screen to make a new pirate because of mircrosoft error. Admittedly, I know nothing about game development or much about computers but this is really insane - I wouldn't think they would be having these kind of problems this close to release (even if it is a month away - meaning summer starting June 21 or 22 - whatever it is - thus, end of Spring) wish I could make a new pirate :( My son made one right before the "crash" (last maintenece since I could get on) and my niece (who has an older pirate on my account) can't get on either - grrrrr - just wish we could ALL get on!

I can't imagine how this game will run when it actually has thousands of players on. So far, the most I have seen on is a little over a hundred or so, and that is during a stress test.

Well a lot of people must be playing it:

Besides, it will probably be running fine come release date. It's got so much better since it's BETA release, you will admit. So what's to stop it getting better?
Just remember to send bug reports.

This server is currently down for maintenance.

Oh, fair enough then O.o
Couldn't see anywhere that it was down for maintenance, but ok.

What I meant was, I don't believe it has been tested with more than a couple hundred at a time at most. How can it be near ready when during their big server stress tests there are only a hundred or so people playing the game? When it is released to the public, there should be thousands playing.
I'm not really sure it has gotten much better for some of us. I still have terribly long freezes, weird graphics problems, my quests have been stuck for 3 weeks, and many more issues that are too long to list. And I am one of the lucky ones that can play at all.

Indianajo75 05-24-2007 10:55 AM

Same here. I know I used to, even if they were just auto-replies...

I sent Feed Back to them asking why, after 3 "Chat/Games" they won't make their own Message Boards... We could get all the info we need about the game in real time... No changing HTML files and putting them back up. You just go make a post for an update... There are even some really nice boards that are Free, along with the web space to run them...

About the game... I can't help putting it side by side with Toon Town. The web page just makes it sound like POTC was going to be so much better (and also done by now)...

Are there basic parts of the game we still haven't seen? In Toon Town we had are own houese... Are all those empty shops in POTC just to slow us down? Or will we get to buy other things, and have a room on our ships to keep stuff in?

I sail solo (feels more like "Water World"), when you have a crew on all your cannons, do the cannons below deck show up like the Navy has?

My Pirates folder is getting closer to 400MBs... will it be an all day download like Toon Town?

It just feels more like they want us to get fed up, and go out and buy the game system versions of the game (Play Station)...

On the release date saga, they put it back twice now, no doubt they will do again, if needs be. So don't count on anything, like everything, its best to give general impression your on schedule and things are going as expected, even if this is not the case.

In gaming world it seems to be normal practice, a fair precentage of games get ther finishing date put back from initial estimate, many times seen on net game sites or magazine, game te released first quarter of the year, only then to get new annocement that its now second quarter or even third.

If how test is running at mo is anything to gauge how long till realease, you would have to say a while yet, but then maybe they are further along then we think and we arent seeing all the lastest on beta.

On lag issues, my biggest hope is that they are running on minimal server as they would on full release, in fact it seems to me that in last week lag got far worse. So maybe they are running minimal server status to test server stress a long term perecentage stress test. After all as someone else mentioned, they haven't done a stress test recently.

Well i hope so anyway.
