Or perhaps either:
  • The worst Officer in any guild in the game, or
  • The most desperate Officer in any guild in the game!

Again, although I can appreciate the emotional distress it must have caused, I can also appreciate the very pirate-y nature of said hijack.

Before the BB the guy who Hiijacked us was begging me to join With whispers. I kept politely refusing but he wouldn't stop. I shoulda taken that as a hint...

LOL! Why report for this? He was simply using the age old pirate tactic of "press ganging" to get people to join his guild. LOL! Unfortunately, for it to work, you have to be able to knock people cold, drag them to your ship, and set sail.

Ya did the right thing Kit. Just walk away and shake your head in amazement.

The reality here, is that it simply is not really a 'reportable' issue.

This is something that can easily be avoided, and is in full control of those orchestrating the boss battle.

Invite pirates you dont know to your BB, and your asking for such problems. As if pirates would just take any wayward pirate looking individual aboard thier ship for any major venture.

I dont agree with the tactics of such an individual, but whenever someone starts opening thier situation up to "Open" or "Public", and gives up control of 'who' participates, you are asking for a number of unknown elements such as this.

I met Anndrreuuh by inviting her to a BB when I didn't know her rofl.

I didnt say it was a bad thing, just saying you do this, and you can expect unknown elements, good and bad for that matter. Meeting new people/friends is one of the better aspects. Obviously people meet the bad elements as well.

The point Im making is, that its controlled by those orchestrating the boss battle. If you wish to open it to public and invite strangers on the chance you may meet some new good friends, thats fantastic, but dont blame the game if you encounter a bad element, it was your choice to take that chance. You cant complain to Disney when everyone else isnt playing to YOUR set of rules (which do not apply to others).

Good point Zep, but there are times when people do go to extremes to get what they want.

couldn't you take the helm back? captains do that to me all the time when they're not on it and were being killed

This is a given on your own ship, in normal game play environment.

The captain/owner of the ship can always take over control.

Unfortunately, in the boss battle, your trying to steal the Black Pearl back from the Navy. Its not your ship, your not the captain. Whoever takes the helm, takes the helm, and noone can override it.

I must of read the quest wrong all those times, I was positive it said round up a crew, never remembered it saying round up captains.

Go to the problem, Disney. And Disney running off everyone with downgrades and bans. No new content, thus empty guilds. Empty guilds means no friends for help on these for some people.

Can't imagine what they will come up with to downgrade for this pretend fix, rather than simply giving the owner of the quest over ride rights to the wheel.

Kitfisto 12-08-2008 03:05 AM

C'mon, this isn't Disney's fault. One little exploit with the ship wheel doesn't probubly merit as much attention as the sea of other problems they need to fix in the game.
