My Blackberry and I decided to check things out since the PC version wasn't letting me log in. I'm not normally a fan of text-based games but CotD is neat.
You have Padres, Tortuga and Port Royal to explore and go back and forth to, and when you're 'sailing' to one of the islands you have the option to hunt for enemy ships. Each screen tells you your Ship Damage, and when you come across an enemy ship it will say "Ship Name has been spotted!" (ie. Barracuda, etc) and gives you the option to Fight, Flee, or Parlay.
All in all it's a nice little game, but I'll have to stick to my PC version, because unfortunately my college doesn't give me a degree for shooting at the EITC during classes. =)

I was wondering if anyone has found a hull larger than a war sloop. All in all the game is fun. I like that you can transfer gold and items to any of your characters. This way you can give your baby pirates some gold to at least buy a decent outfit :)

Gold Cap: I haven't hit one yet but then again, I transfer the max 1000 per/day to at least one of my POTCO pirates.
Sheet Music: don't know how many I have gotten anymore. They guy on PR isn't taking song requests since the BIG PR update.
Artifacts: Don't have all of these yet but here is a screen shot of what I have transfered over to POTCO so far.

No Data Plan on your phone/blackberry...no problem!
For those that don't have a data plan...there are a ton of mobile emulators online and for download.
I quickly loaded the game with this site: http://mtld.mobi/emulator.php and gave it the url of www.PiratesOnline.com, logged in as a guest.
I did not play it though with my account (didn't want to submit my POTCO login data to this site as I'm not familiar with it) so I do not know if you can log in and save game data. This was just to test if online emulators would work...and it seems to.

Y'Know, this is probably some preview of what we could see in Ship Customization. Wouldn't be surprised if it were, but all that I could really ask for is new missions fr this before I rejoin. I just hope that is you can make your ship fire-, thunder-, or fury- proof, you have to be able to use these cannon ammo's yourself.

I like this game for the gold factor, but today for some reason, every time I try to transfer gold, I keep getting error messages that tell me to try again later. Anyone else had similar results?

Also, why don't we add some tips about how to make sure you always hit enemy ships with your first shot. I seem to miss every time.

Whenever I get a **** with close range, mid range, or long range I set the angles to 15, 25, and 35 degrees, respectively. Those are always correct, however, the power doesn't really correspond with the distance. What have you guys experienced?

I'm in it for the gold... nice way to funnel gold to my pc pirates.

Yup, I'm in it for the gold and new treasure items as well. I get the same error from time to time when trying to transfer gold too.

As for fighting tips...I use your same method Close=11, Mid=21 and Long=31, as for power I always shoot at Medium Strength first, sometimes I get lucky and if I don't you will know what the second shot needs to be as it tells you if you are short or overshot.
