It was the Rum Lizzy.

WHO DAT - WHO DAT - Who Dat say dey gonna beat dem SAINTS!

I won most of my bets. Very good game. I thought it would come down to who could run the ball better or who won the turnover battle.

Commercials: I liked the violin Beaver, Favre 2020 and Punxsutauny Palomalu - but Beyonce had the best Super Bowl ad of All Time...of all time.

Well, all and all, this has been better than last season as far a betting. Last year we had only MNF to bet on. This season we had all games.

Sven Osymthe 02-09-2010 04:39 AM

And next year should be even better. Hopefully both teams that played in the most viewed show of all time will return to the playoffs (Colts are pretty much a given, someone is getting a big contract.)

Basil Dreadflint 02-09-2010 02:32 PM

Actually, there's a very good chance of no one getting any big contracts this year. Until the players and teams all come to an agreement, most owners will be very skeptical about giving away any big contracts.

The salary caps are gone, the profit sharing is gone, free agancy is a huge issue, the players association isn't meeting in good faith.

There is a lsim possibility that there may not even be any real football next year, if they don't start some truely productive meetings and come up woth some viable agreements. A player lockout has happened in the past, and could possibly happen again!

combatlizzy 02-09-2010 04:34 PM

I remember that, Basil. The real teams were substituted with the amateurish teams. What a season that was! Think I lost interest after like the first 2 games..lol

True, not many people could receive a big contract next year, but the owner of the team has already talked about making the player I was talking about the highest paid player. Manning is the life of the team, and his contract ends at the end of next season.. can't see him wanting a small one :laughks2:

And next year should be fine. Granted, there will be a lot of changes.. but I don't see them having a big effect on every team, some may not even be bothered in the slightest.

Unless an agreement can be reached between the player's union and NFL owners, the 2011 football season remains in jeopardy.
Straight from an NFL press release. As such, if they don't sit down and start serious discussions soon, MOST owners will be very reluctant to give away any big long term contracts when they know they could be faced with a lockout season.

Smart owners will let contracts sit in their last year, or only give one year contracts.

Sven Osymthe 02-09-2010 06:58 PM

I've seen quite a lot released, and mentioned too, but until the next season comes I am still going to look on the bright side about it, because that leaves something left to look forward too. The issue might not be solved this year, but there is still a slight chance.

The Skirata Clan 02-09-2010 07:37 PM

There is a "14" in a scale of 1-10 of strike according to an players' rep.

The Skirata Clan 02-11-2010 08:14 PM

Were the Super Bowl bets settled?

Kid Heartbreaker 08-06-2010 11:10 PM

Where is the betting on if Brett Favre will come back........again?

The Skirata Clan 08-09-2010 06:19 AM

Hey!! Don't mess with an Ol' #4! Or with any of us Vikings!
