Yes, but they come right back. So they're pretty much invincible.

NPCs can turn into enemies now. A certain bodyguard does this after Dr. Bellrog has you disposed after you finished his work.

Quests have never been so interactive as before! This is game-breaking! (in a good way)

Also, after you defeat the Englishman-looking El Patron, you can open his Skull Chest to get your very first famed Cursed Blade! There are 3 to pick from the Skull Chest, but you can only pick one, so pick wisely! If anybody's interested, I took the image of all of the Cursed Blade's stats for future references.

I happened to find a Rage Ghost that's level 52.

On the Pirates Online Wiki, it has two pictures of El Patron. One being the not so scary NPC with the golden aura,

The other being the menacing looking shadow ghost.

I'm guessing that he appears in two forms in-game.

They don't seem to be. I was on earlier and saw an injured ghost. It healed rapidly though, and our whole group barely made a dent. You could kill them if you had the same massive all-out attack like we see on Jolly Roger during invasions...

The top one isn't El Patron. It's a mutineer/devious ghost.

Can anybody tell me their opionion on what to pick from the LSC at the end? I'm not exactly sure which weapon is better, and when the Cove hits live, I want to be sure. :)

It depends what you want, you can find them all later, but this is your main choice. I hear there are also 5 legendaries.
