It seemed fine for the past few days, there were no issues. However it says on the website they're dealing with Network Issues.

I really hope it's network issues and network issues alone. Due to the rollback, I am now very afraid another one could take place... And I had just gotten a Blightfang Edge and Fullmoon Special Repeater within the last two nights..

No! No level 0's!! Gah. Keeping my fingers crossed for some minor networking issues and not huge major 'someone spilled coffee on the computer' problems...hope we aren't gonna deal with the Weekend of Death again.

If I am not mistaken that message about network issues has been up there ever since the restore they did Sunday. My favorite part of the message is the part they included in parenthesis regarding the network issues (outside of our control).

I also hope it is simply network issues and not their wonderful "maintenance" that they love to do. If there is another reset I will be quite annoyed. I honestly think they are trying to change something about the game though. Maybe they are messing with the coding for some reason they have, I dunno. Or maybe they are just throwing a party with all the Marceline guild on Tortuga beach and saying how awesome it is that nobody can bug them <sarcmark> I honestly don't know. I just hope everything works out well.

I hope they don't reset anything, has anyone tried to go onto the Live Chat and talk to someone about the issues?

I was on this morning and I had zero level. I made a bug report, included a screen capture and spoke with live chat as soon as they opened up. Now I see that the game is down again. Before the roll back I was only about a 1000 points away from level 30, the roll back put me back into level 28, (the first 25 percent). I worked hard to get to 30 level again so I could get the staff. I got the staff last night and leveled it to level 2. Even picked up the ravens cove quest. Now that its down again I really hope I dont have to do all of that again. In the month that Ive been playing there has been alot of problems and issues. Please tell me this is not normal to have all these issues. Thanks

So... is the game running or down?
I'm confussed... the gamed said "you may experience intteruptions during gameplay" so it sounds like game is open, but then when I logged into POTCO, this showed up and well.... made it seem like game is closed for basic access, as the game didn't actually load...
Says you can skip this with unlimited... |
It is closed to all not just basic. Been that way most of today.

Don't worry, it's nothing to do with basic access, the game has had lots of network trouble lately, I have unlimited and it's the same thing, minus the "Skip" thing, it should be back up by tomorrow, though. :)

I just mastered dagger, doll, and got 3 famed knives from Smasho in the last two days, not to mention I spent a bunch of money (About 45,000) re-doing skills, they're awesome now and my blunderbuss does like 15,000 damage, but I'm not sure I would spring for that again... Well, I just got on, and things have been to reversed to the monday before last AGAIN. Personally, I don't mind having to lose rep since that is pretty easy to gain back, however, I am VERY VERY VERY irked that I lost a Fullmoon Special Repeater and Blightfang Edge. Then again, may be too early to call, since they're going to down for maintenance again at midnight.

NOT impressed. This will now be my third time doing the Raven's Cove Quest which I did all by myself with the help of two random people at the very end. And the boss battle glitched so I beat it rather easily..
At least I'm still in my guild.. yay? It was up when I checked now, but as soon as I got on everything was reversed, and I got the 15 minute warning for more maintenance. |
I'm getting real sick of re creating my pirate and rebuilding gold so I can re buy the Valentines clothes ><

Didn't you said we can PLAY SAFELY and there isn't a problem??????? This is ridiculous!!! I didn't paid 80 euros just for roll back! This is the worst Game Programmers in all the client games that I have played! I was just re-gaining what I lost with the last roll back and now AGAIN ROLL BACK!!! RIDICULOUS! Another reset!!
For the third time on the same pirate, I have to redo the raven's cove and staff quest!!! I can not believe that their way of fixing things is to do another rollback. I also lost my bright blue cotton t-shirt and red silk vest. Luckly I didn't really play on my level 50. My level 31 has to redo staff and raven's cove. Those quest are super hard to do for a level 30ish. I mean come on, I am so sick of all the resets. :vcry:

I just logged on, 5 minutes ago, the first thing I did was check my weapons.....
My new famed are gone, my skills that I recently re-did are back to how they were, this is getting terrible, I spent 7 hours at Smasho getting those! EDIT: Oh, I also noticed my level was decreased to 46, and Dagger and Doll were un-mastered. Great, just great. |

This is getting really ridiculous. I am mainly upset about using loot only or famed items but so many of us lost time and effort into leveling up too.
If there is a way they can give us our items back at least I think that would make up for it. |

I some news to shed some light. I got back from live chat and I told them that the Erin the EITC guy was not there to start the Valentine quest. Then he logged in to check it out for himself. He said he was gone to! So he sent in a report to the Developer team. Also any loot plundered since the data loss and the Feb 7 breakdown MUST BE REPLUNDERED! They don't have the power to re-add items back to your inventory. Hope this breifing helped the users talking about what happen on the data loss. :bookishfj7:

I just got a notice in game. They added the V Day quest again!
Clothes were all I lost on most of my pirates. I just completed the PDF teleportation quest for the third time on one of my minis. xD |

It is absolutely ridiculous. I've mastered the same weapons twice already, and now I have to to do it again? And I just got a famed blunder - but, like my other weapons, it's gone. Totally ridiculous.

I am happy to be able to get weapons with higher attack and skills that help in battle. (like Infinite Ammo, or Rolling Attack, etc.) Back in those days, you got one weapon for each class. ^ I am fairly sure that I lost a famed Dagger in the reset. I don't care too much about that though. I have a better one, so its not too upsetting. What IS upsetting is how guilds were reset as well. We lost a lot of great members and I am quite upset that I will have to track them down and find them again, if I ever will. That is frustrating.

Nothing to be TOO upset about, just remember that this is out of their control really. They update the site to draw us to the game, it's not their fault that stuff crapped out.
They are doing whatever they can to fix it and I'm sure they'll have something down the line about reducing the chances of finding rare items for a day or something. And they DID provide an extension for unlimited access members. |

I know some here are saying things like "its not their fault" or "they are doing the best they can" but you can only use the dog ate my homework excuse so many times…
With the amount of misinformation swirling about and POTCO doing very little to abate it, I honestly don't feel a tacked on one week extension to UA is a satisfactory compensation when players have lost any sense of assurance that this will not happen again. For some, deciding not to play until they feel the game has stabilized has the potential for players to miss out on this one week extension. A fairer response to extending UA would be to send a code to UA players affected by the maintenance problems so they can determine for themselves when/if it is safe to make a return to playing the game. (Edit: I see as I posted this POTCO has posted their official resolution to the maintenance problems) |
Too be fair for this to happened on test as it happened many times when loot drops were first introduced is one thing. But for it to make it to open is a huge failure for the POTCO staff.
