OK. I got the lappy working (sort of) last night! Was able to log in around 10:30 for about 20 minutes. Still have to finish putting all the pieces back in the case and putting all the screws back to hold it all together.

I plan on being back ingame tonight!

Blame me. Everyone else does. Have you tried blowing/wiping off any dust that may be on the video card, particularly the heatsink and/or fans?

Yep...I'm thinking that it's just finally had enough. It probably doesn't help that I didn't start to clean it until I'd had the computer for about a year; the itty-bitty fan on the VC was sort of caked with dust... Oops. LoL

Hey guys! Blue and I have not fallen into the ocean. This pesky " real life" thing just keeps getting in the way. Hopefully it will settle down soon and we can get in game. At least the time change is almost here. We will only be 5 hours ahead of the east coast, makes guild night easier to attend. Hawaii hugs to DW! We miss ya'll.

The curse may have struck again. My computer is down, (running an ancient slow dinosaur right now that would probably die if I tried to run POTCO). Thought it was just a burned out power supply, fixed that but it will not boot up to desktop. Currently being diagnosed as I type, will keep ya posted.

i left the game a while ago, couldnt afford to pay for it anymore.. ive moved out and dealt with some hard times which is why i havent logged on in bloody ages..

I feel like ive been gone so long and the thought of updating myself with all the new things in game gives me a headache, lol.. theres probably way too many things. On a better note I got myself a new computer and maybe ill get the game again sometime soon.. but as of right now I cant pay for it so i wont.

Y'all know I'm not really AFK. But, I haven't been around much this past week. I was travelling for 5 out of the last 7 weeks, and have a TON of stuff to do around the house and the farm. Things are just pure hectic right now.

I have tried to get ingame every night, but usually it is after 10 and I can't stay too long. The officers are doing a great job handling things, and I am glad to see everyone when I am able to.
Still having some problems with the puter, too. Think it;s about time to invest in a new one. Hmmm, quad core, 6 Gig Ram, huge graphics card, just where can I get the money?

Hopefully, all of this will slow down a little over the next week or so, and I'll get ingame more often.

I won't be on any tonight as the Atlanta Falcons come to the SuperDome to play my Saints!.........It should be a throwdown.

I couldn't find any Falcon Meat in the store so it will have to be Grilled Chicken with a Peach Sauce Glaze.

Sigh, and now I've been hit with the computer curse again, and as of tomorrow will be AFK from not only game but also the forums. Oh joy! I'll be taking it into Best Buy for a diagnostic. That should be a 1 to 2 day thing, but if they discover the problem is hardware related they'll do the service and it will be a bit longer. If it's software related then they can't fix it, I'll have to send it to HP, and that will be at least 2 weeks. Don't ya love modern technology?:ziwzgm:


Edit: I don't really use the stupid drive that much so I might just wait to take it in till Monday, that way if they can fix it I will be less likely to be out of touch over the weekend. (The repair isn't time dependent, I still have 50 weeks to do it LOL)

Sorry I havent been in game much but between work and the holiday party caterings I do on the side I've been busier than a one legged pirate in a butt kicking contest, but now with most of them done I should be back in game more regularly.

Well, I'm quasi-AFK. AT&T can't figure out what's wrong with my internet lines...they've been working on it since last Wednesday. I'll keep trying to get into the game (I've been trying on non-sociable pirates), but have only had spotty success so far. I can get in for 5 or so minutes, then freeze or get disco'd.

I am ashamed.

Not only did I miss the last guild night of the year, four officer promotions, a glow fest that could light up Kansas, and this year's Christmas Picture, Dueces style, but I didn't even tell anyone I was going to be gone so much.

I belatedly report my afkness. I have been over at my gf's house all week just spending time when I have it. I have been so busy having so much fun and relaxation I never made it on here to type this exact thing up until tonight.

I hope everyone will have the grandest of Holidays without the pants. I know it is hard, but you will all manage :piratetongueor4:.

However, I make that sound worse than it is (I have fun) because I should be back on tomorrow and throughout Christmas.

For some future sadness, the week after Christmas, you know, New Years, I am going to be gone that whole week too. So the pants are going to be MIA through the holidays a lot just like I am sure a lot of you will be too.

I have to admit I can't get myself to play anymore. I get on and am just very bored. I always find a different game that is more fun.

Ok, giving advance notice on this one. Monday morning I am taking my laptop in for service. I don't know if I will be AFK two days, or two weeks, depends on what's wrong with it. Then they tell me, oop, you needed to bring the warranty info with you, and oh by the way it will take about 3 weeks, not 2. :degen: You have gotta be kidding me! :126: So my options are, wait 3 weeks for the Geeks to send it to HP anyway, send it to HP myself, or just not do anything. I'm not technically AFK, but my graphics card's being stupid(er), so I can't get in game. I tried to reason with it, even threatened it by bringing in a new card, but it laughed at me because it (at several years of age) is still three times more powerful than the "new" replacement.

So...yeah. I'll be back as soon as I can get it sorted. ;)

It must be the "begining of the year get your schedule figured out" thing. I was just on for over 2 hours this morning and no one was on - I mean NO ONE - not even a regular Pirate friend. In fact, there were only 3 Green servers.

I won't be on much the next couple of days. I have to go on another work trip next week, and there's things I have to get done before I leave.

I should be on on Sunday evening, and most of next week during the evenings from the hotel.

Eeeew hotel hookup! Have a safe trip, see ya when ya get back on. :D

Forced AFK right now.

House lost power on Friday in the blizzard. Been running the backup generator, but it can't handle the full load. Then we lost internet and cable during the first half of the Superbowl last night.

It took more than 2 hours to get to work this morning, and they are calling for another 8 inches of snow tomorrow into Wednesday.

I have NO IDEA when I'll get back to the game or the forums. I can sneak in on my phone once in awhile, but that is iffy to begin with, and it costs a lot since I don't have that in my normal plan.

Hopefully, I'll be around by Wednesday for Guild Night! I've been saving "Kick the Can" for a long time, and I've been looking forward to this one!

WOOT! Electricity came back around 2AM. And just got a phone call that there are 2 cable TV trucks cruising around the area, so maybe they will be able to restore that, too. (Just hoping that the problem isn't underground. There's up to 8 feet of snow in some places where they plowed it all.)

I'll be AFK from the 20th until the 28th. Where I'm going, I won't be taking a computer with me. International travel with a puter is such a pain. Besides, I'll be busy sunning, swimming, body surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving.

The only time I plan on touching a keyboard is the night before I fly home, to check in for the airline. (If I'm having as much fun as I plan to, checking in to return home may not happen!)

Looks like the weekend before I will get a chance to ge in game. RL has taken over.

First it was the local Home/Garden show where all us construction related trades man a booth for 12 hours answering the same questions over and over and over again.

Monday night at 8 PM, wife and 10th grader got on a nice bus with the rest of the school band for a trip to Bands of America competition in Indianapolis - they return Sunday evening.

So, I get the kids off to school, leave work in time to meet the school bus in the Afternoon, homework, supper and try to get the other 3 kids to bed - took until past 10:30 the last two nights.

All you super Moms who do that every day are welcome to point and laugh. Shoot, I might even pop in "Mr. Mom" tonight so the kids can laugh at me too.

Would never POINT and laugh...pointing isn't polite ;)

She may not point.. but I can hear the laughter all the way over in my neck of the woods. :D

I will be AFK for the next week. Gonna be off snuggling gtots for the next several days. I'll try to pop back in game sometime next week before I have to return to real life (ew... I don't like four letter words that begin with W.)

I will be pretty much totally AFK from now (Noon, 3/12) til at least late Sunday (3/14) evening. May touch base, but won't really have any time.

Next week, I'll only be on for a short time in the evenings, west coast time.

Then, next Friday through Sunday, not at all.

After that, things should get back to more normal schedule.

Got a new job that's added some major driving to my day and kind of messed up my timing.

Also, I must admit, I'm suffering from another POTCO burnout.

So I'm going to be stepping back for a while. I'll be in stealth mode here on the boards from time to time, watching for new game developments, but I probably won't be in-game much for the near future.

But I love my DW family oodles and heaps!!!

OK, I apologize. I thought that I would be spending major time ingame this week. Nothing to do from the hotel but p[lay. Instead, I can't even get the game to load. My internet discoes every few minutes.

I've been on the phone to ISP support for more than 6 hours in the last 2 days. I connect to the hotel at great speeds, but as soon as I access the web, it crashes. I've tried my puter at a Starbnucks, and it works great there, so it's not my puter.

I'll be calling support again as soon as I get off work again today, but things just don't look promising. Last time I tried the game, I got as far as the screen that says update in progress, and got booted. If I can't get the update, I can't log in.

Am off for a research trip over Spring break in the wilds of Michigan from Saturday on, so little to no net access til March 29th, and def. no computer that can handle the game. But when i get back will have a better PC (hopefully it will be ready by then) & maybe a bit more in game time.

I will be out of action for a few days. I had my arm looked at today and they said it is Cellulitis (something for you Web MD fans to look up).

I got some horse pill antibiotics and an antibiotic shot in each hip - not the glutes - the hip; about an inch behind the bone. Dr. said to take a few days off from work and don't sit in chairs with arm rests that would put pressure on the elbow area. Forget about the elbow! Those shots were 6 hours ago and sitting to type this is ALL the sitting I want to do. I'm going back to laying down. Sea Ya when I feel better.
