We need the teams before we can set up times. No sense making times with no teams.

6) Regulator

12) Pretty Polly / Scullduggery Bones

i'll post alterations and additions as they come :)

The Commodore 02-28-2009 04:12 PM

Ok. If you can divide them into two groups once you get them all, that would be great. 3, 6 member teams, good start.

And about your event on the 14th, we can schedule around that.

Molly Ironbones 02-28-2009 09:15 PM

If you need a second team, I am sure I can gather some others. Swash tried to explain the rules to me before, still don't completely understand. What day is this for? Would like to post on guild calendar. Keep me posted........

The Commodore 02-28-2009 10:22 PM

Heya Molly. Right now, the day for teams is March 8th. After that, me and some people will get together and set up the divisions and first round matches. The matches will probably be around the 21st. We still need to get all the bugs worked out.

The Commodore 03-01-2009 03:07 PM

One week until teams are due. Right now we have around 4 teams, I think.

Uh, below in the quote box is the mad jumble of the post before I sorted out my thoughts. Anywhoo, here are my ideas for rules:

1. Having a doll out means you're safe. Basicly, you're either a) on your territory, or b) in a safe zone (at the enemy flag safe zone). Hence, you can tag enemies or attune the flag.
2. Having a pistol out means you're in enemy territory. If you're attuned, and a heal number goes up, you are to report to the jail watchman.
3. Having a cutlass out means you've acquired the enemy flag, and hence you're game to be tagged even on your side. As well, you can only enter the area near your friendly flag if you have the enemy's flag.
4. Having no weapons out means you're in jail, and is only to occur when you're on the enemy's side to allow for no deceit. For you to be freed from jail, the jail watchmen must be attuned: then everyone in that jail is released. They must cross back before drawing a weapon.

Those guidelines being laid out, this game can differ quite well from the regular Capture the Flag game. Because the flag calls out when attuned, and because speed is relatively similar for each pirate, the flag could be mulit-touch, and the game could be scored similarly to a baseball game, with anybody who touches the flag and touches back getting a point, even if someone else has also touched the flag. Basicly, a team can run in more than one flag at once, and no delay would be necessary, because nothing need be returned.

I think we're gonna need around 6 people being inactive: either Watchmen (jail or centerline), or Flags. Two centerlines would form the line, and they'd be refs, using their computer screens and their perpendicular facing pirates to call who is out. These guys would be in a crew, as would the Jail and Flag people. Team 1 and Team 2 would each have their own crews, to talk strategy and not calls.

Now, they could have it so that the flag people call out when they're attuned. The people who have touched the flag are to draw out their cutlass. You're not safe if you merely cross back to your side when you've touched the flag: you have to get back to your side and hack your flag (basicly, you can be tagged on your side if you got the flag, until you're back in your safe zone).

Anywhoo, a sword marks who has a flag, a doll marks someone who is safe

Those aren't bad ideas. Maybe the next update for CTF. For now, I wanna stay with the stuff we have. It's simple, most understand.

P.S. Geo, I'll see ya in game to give you a rundown of reffing policies.

If you've noticed, we have no dates yet. We need to get brackets set up first.
