A members only place, instance... disney has been creating more of these things in pixie hollow. I would not be suprised if the follow the same model in the caribbean.

There are several ways they could restrict the new area if they wanted to. The fact that it (Raven's Cove) seems to be outside the Caribbean is curious indeed. They could use Unlimited or even a level restriction to enter the new area or maybe you have to be fully mastered. None of these would be easily accepted. Unlimited would make the most sense "if" they are planning on restricting it at all.

Many MMORPG's have areas that are resticted by Level and you can't enter them until you have reached a certain level and done the "Gain Access" quest which you are not given until you reach the appropriate level. It could be something as completing quests to get a new teleport stone to take you to the new area. The only real problem would be blocking other pirates from TP'n to those that had gained access.

I rather think whatever they are doing will be open to all.

I can't help but smile when I read this thread. Not that its the fault of anyone here, but I'm beginning to question Disney's decisions.

I'll explain what I mean. Be advised that this is a bit off topic at first so if the mods don't find it right for me to post it here I'll make a new thread. While people complain about lack of content, we have created a game for ourselves, sort of a "game outside the game." Seeing everyone debate and list each possible explanation for these events makes me think, "Maybe this is what Disney wants. Maybe they actually want us to guess what will come next or how it will be integrated." Some of the greatest ideas in this world are the ones that can have many meanings, and many more answers. Of course this doesn't make up for no big updates, but it does add to the thrill of the experience so that once the updates do come, they will seem bigger and grander.

For example, when this "Where are the weapons?" storyline comes to the close (hopefully in some huge groundbreaking update) than all of these events involving the invasions, and the fleets, and the betrayal storyline will give players the feeling that they truly did have a hand in solving the mystery, and that all this tedious work paid out in the end. Just my two cents.

Back on topic, the biggest guess would be new weapons and/or a new island. Hopefully the island serves a meaning and isn't just another wild island. I'm basically asking for another main quest island (Tortuga, Port Royal) and not another "space filler" (Cangrejos, Rumrunners). Not to say the wild islands serve no purpose, but with the exception of Tormenta, if you've seen one you've seen them all.

It's definitely going to be an island! Really there is no doubt about it!

The Rott quest definately uses the word Island in describing Raven Cove.

Since the EITC is sending expeditions, it can likely be concluded that the island does NOT currently have an established settlement - at least not one that Beckett has his hand in.

So, Raven Cove could be a deserted wild island. It could be an island with ruins maybe? Be nice to add natives (alive or even undead ones) to our enemies list.

If East India is trying to get there and the pirates could get there first -

WOULDN'T THAT MEAN THE POSSIBILITY OF EITC INVASIONS AGAINST THE ISLAND? A nice reversal.

So, how about this... There are natives on Raven's Cove, or maybe the remnants of a colony. There could be a handful of NPC natives for the pirates to interact with as they quest for the new weapons. EITC or even NAVY invasions occur from time to time, along with Jolly's as the pirates race against time. Just a suggestion - but I would play that.

I have some information which i found out from Member Services about Raven Cove:
Raven's Cove will soon be added into the dangerous waters very soon. Prepare for an island that is like no island currently in the game. Rumors are, this island has unique enemies with powerful skill, so prepare ye self lad. Ye do not want to be caught in the midst of their attack! Here is another email i asked to Member Services about Raven Cove:
We have received reports of other Pirates seeking Raven Cove also. It has been said before that is does lie beyond uncharted waters. Yet, very few Pirates have been there. You can count on any news regarding it will be shared with all residents of the Caribbean. For the latest game developments, be sure to check the Current News as it is updated frequently.

What does this mean well it means we will very soon be able to sail past The Uncharted Waters in the game.

Nice James. I think it will only extend to Raven Cove if that is the case though. Unless more wild islands are coming with it in the future, nothing is certain.

The question is will it come with this update (the new weapons) or is it the next one? Since it said Very Soon..
