Ok then. Any brainstorms for these little bitty additions?

Oh, that's easy.

It could be one of two things.
A.) A spot to "show off" our ship like we could in beta.
B.) A short spot which will be an area where you will fish for the dockworkers.

I mean, they have been talking about games such as darts and fishing, right? Well, this little area is perfect for a few people to just sit down and fish.

And if it's fishing, it's probably going to be easy to do, since some developers already have experience with working on the whole fishing aspect.

Crestshot 04-02-2010 02:55 AM

Somehow I doubt it would be ship show off. I think that it would be way too much hassle because everyone would be trying to get over there to show off their ship, and besides, we don't have ship customization yet. So I'm crossing that one off my list.

Fishing? Almost like toontown fishing? That sounds like a more open option...but I'm still not sure of it. When I think pirate I don't think "fishing." I think "plunder, sword, plunder, rum." However, you're right about the developers having more experience. Would it be added to Cuba and PR as well then? Why are the new add ons at only Tortuga and Padres? Do the other two major islands already have enough room? Food for thought...

MacIronhawk 04-02-2010 03:04 AM

Look at Port Royals' dock. The end of it is about as long as Tortugas' and Padres' so... adding on anything wasn't really necessary.

And if you think about it, the three main islands can be the only places to fish. And then comes along ship customization, right after inventory and the Kraken, like the Developer Diary suggests. So, they can add fishing to the bought while at sea.

Or... they'll add on things to other islands while they work on other things, so we don't get bored.

I mean, what else would they add on it for? Useless waste of space? No, I'm pretty sure this new fishing might come. I mean, if things go the way the developer diary suggests, it will be Inventory, Kraken and second story quest, then things for the dockworkers to give us to do. I'm pretty sure fishing is on its' way.

Everything is great if you download the game, but you can't do anything with the browser. BTW LPS, I also have a few problems with tonics, but it is minor compared to the problems we had last weekend. There were also a few occasions where when I put things in my inventory manually that they wouldn't go in, so I just started using Take it All. Got over 60000 gold in about 6 hours yesterday thanks to the sell feature.

So all this madness is caused by me playing Test from the browser? Well, like I said, if only I still had the Desktop.
Sven, might as well PM me the Links.

As for the add-ons, I also noticed them by accident. It's funny what happens when you're not paying attention to the background ;)

Well if CT hadn't played on the browser, or anybody else, would bug reports be sent regarding the issues that player are experiencing with the web launcher? Probably not.

"Everything is great if you download the game" - yes, and then when this update on test goes to live, a bigger fraction of the players will experience problems on the web launcher because nobody tested it out?

CT if you still need the link I can PM you.

That would do nicely - I'm ITCHING to use the Old Musket that I have collecting dust ( Plus I can't so less receive "training" for the Pistol ( Yeah, a pirate needs training to use a pistol - AND A CUTLASS??? ) because going to Devil's Anvil also causes me to crash. The browser needs some serious fixing ). Thanks in advance.

Really? Just logged on and it took less than thirty seconds.

Hope there will be fixes in the release notes soon, because I don't see any yet.

No, or if they have, they have not been shared. The weapons may not even be available at this time (they possibly released a portion of the update until all the problems work out), only chests with a max of 3 skulls have been found - the real max is 5.

Currently, no one here on POF has, and no one I've seen in the game has.

Unfortunately, even though the release notes say we can find these lost weapons, they're probably as hard to find as the clothing drops before this update. Which means it could be a long time before we see any pictures of any ghost pirates with swords.

Oh well, but it's really weird that they didn't hand out these lost swords and weapons to random test pirates to make sure they worked properly. You'd think they'd want us to make sure it works good.

  • We are currently fixing technical issues on the TEST Server and hope to have El Patron's Lost Weapons back online. However, until all the inventory bugs are fixed, your daily progress on the TEST Server may be lost.

If you guys notice what disney has said about El Patron's weapons... they are not online yet. Im assuming that they were part of the bug that happened a week ago, or the bug was hendering their addition. I'm sure they will let us know when they are on test.

William ORoberts 04-03-2010 02:03 AM

You guys all know that they have private test server that this stuff goes through even before hitting open test, right? They have probably tested ALL of the new weapons there.

I would love to get some attention and be the first person in my guild to get one of El Patron's weapons!
